    Okay people. S2E1. Let's talk.

    HOW FUCKING COOL WAS THAT!?!

Excellent pacing, great chemistry between the cast. I like how they got straight down to business with setting up S2, but also managed to create some really subtle character moments and texture. Lot of humour too and...

I've definitely seen both seasons in their entirety before, but it was about 15 years ago. I remember it having some solid intrigue but never really seemed to go anywhere with it, and a lot of 'problem of the week' type plots where Perry often ended up bedding the female lead. I think there was some...

Is this actually 'good' when placed on the scales of modern TV? I remember it being a tad corny.

I must admit to using an edited S1 list to get a friend into B5 and it worked a treat. I'm not adverse to doing this, it can be hard to pick and choose, but I understand the need to make the series more appealing....

Cool idea. Whilst I didn't go in for the Encyclopedia, I do like the concept of cross linking and expanding content to include extra trivia. I mean, Lurker's Guide does that very well already, but I'd see no harm in adding extras from the existing catalogue to create a more complete overview.

It was a fun show, and very savy with the way it played with horror tropes and pop culture....

I'd be really curious to know if C & T decide they want to see the episodes that were omitted after finishing the series. I am very aware that much of my love of B5 lies in nostalgia, (as well as it being a very fine series) and it made a big impression on me in my early teens, especially when compared...

Huh, that perhaps looks a tad lopsided to me. You're definitely not going to get that slow build to the telepath meltdown. Joe and Jan are right that S5 has some really good moments too. I think the Byron experience is kinda part and parcel of the whole. I mean, you need to understand the jokes about...

As always, these threads are enjoyable to read. I've always wondered at simply showing SIL in place of 'Deconstruction' at the end of S4 and calling it a day at that. Then again, you'd be missing out on the resolution of Londo's arc. But, I still wonder at how that might feel, ending like that.

    New BTVS TV Series

Wow, I had no idea they were doing a new series of Buffy (or whatever it'll ultimately be called), Joss on board as show runner too. Looks like it will be a continuation, 20 years removed from the original as opposed to a reboot, which is what most fans assumed when it was announced. How did I miss...

  • Okay, I'll stop ranting about the B5 movie now.

    Joss Whedon B5 reboot anyone?

  • I totally understand it's any number of factors that have to align to make it happen. Arguably, if it's being produced under his studio, then it is largely under his control if it moves forward or not. But Studio JMS looks as dead as a doorknob. It doesn't even have an active web presence.

  • Lots of recent tweets on the B5 movie (from fans), crowdfunding, etc. JMS has said outright that he'd need 60 million to make it happen for it to look half respectable. No info on any progress in that field. I note than any mentions of a series reboot, are met with 'WB doesn't want anyone to do anything...

  • I am going to play devil's advocate here! Anything can be rebooted. I'm not saying this is necessarily a good idea, nor am I going to suggest it's always a success. I suppose the best contemporary example is BSG. For the most part, that worked and succeeded in creating a new universe, new stories and...
