I just found yet another new feature, and one I find to be BA.

When you hover the cursor over a thread topic, it displays a preview of the first message.

    Too sweeeeet!
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

The calandar provides a place to keep track of dates that are important to the community. I have it disabled right now because there was a recient security alert regarding a problem with it. I need to find out more about that and also evaulate if it would be useful to users here. We could use it to keep track of upcoming JMS and B5 related dates, however I'm not sure if there is really that much to keep track of. :^(

That is cool. Hadn't seen that before. Thanks for the tip!

        EDIT:

I just noticed that the hover tip only works if there is more than one post. Is there any way to turn it on for all posts? or is this a vBulletin feature that admins have no control over outside of getting down and dirty with the code?

Keep up the good work DougO-buddy-ol-pal!

Unfortunately, I don't see any way to enable the popup when there is only a single message. It could actually be a bug.

Yeah, that kind of sounds like it is. I would imagine that this glitch is occurring due to something simple like the greater/less than sign in an if statement pointing the wrong way, or perhaps a variable or a test is testing against a wrong number because whoever coded that function didn't start counting with 0... or did. In my experience, it has usually been simple things like that that cause the biggest headaches when trying to debug. 3 weeks ago, I wrote a new page counter with extra functions for my website, and it was something like this that was throwing the whole thing off. It took 10 hours a day for 3 days plus the help of another coder before we were able to track down exactly where in code the error was occurring. Of course, it took that long because we weren't exactly 100% sure which function and file the error was occurring in... so that was a problem... anywho... thanks for taking a look. I appreciate it.
