Is there any way to shut off the "confirm receipt" thing that's started up on private messages? It pops up with every PM I get, as well as those I send, and I don't find it useful, as much as annoying. Can it go bye bye now?

Go to your user Control Panel->Edit Options...there under Messaging & Notification you have a bunch of options including "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up" which you can turn off.

The message Omaha's talking about is a pop-up that asks if you want a 'Read Receipt' when you're sending a PM. As far as I can tell it used to be automatic but now it asks every time.

I checked with the vBulletin support forum and discovered a number of posts about this issue. The only way (currently) to disable the popup is to disable the "message tracking" feature entirely. A request has been submitted to Jelsoft to replace the popup with a checkbox on the message page, but there is no word yet on when/if the feature the will be available.

At this point, we can either live with the popup or disable the feature. I don't feel strongly either way. Which would you guys prefer?

Speaking as a moderator, I vote to live with it. Since some PMs are 'work' related, it might be useful to be able to know if a PM has been read.

            Thanks Doug,

They like it ... I loathe it. Split vote so far.

I'd say keep the pop-up and the tracking system that goes with it. I may not have much use for it, but it sounds like others do.

I also vote to keep it. It is annoying to be on "other" forums, and have no way to know when a message has been received/read. This is one of those features that makes this site oh so cool!!!
