  • Member status?

    Doug,

A question came up over in 'Off Topic' about what stages of status there are here. I know I've seen Junior Member, Member, Senior member and a few other, possibly member-chosen ones. Is there a division point by the number of posts and how high do they go?

    Thanks

Well if its like all the other forums then yes, goes by the number of posts, thus my previous remark about users should not reply to their own post

As Doug told me, you can change your title at any time ... So post count really doesn't mean squat ... Mine is stuck with ISN Anchor and it will be that way with 100 or 12,000 posts.

Yup you can change it to whatever you want, but if you don't,then its goes higher by post count.

And post count means what, precisely? Nothing. "It does not mean *A* thing!" (sorry, Londo)

It's just "new member" and "jan is old" er "old member" kinda stuff anyway ... some of us really don't care about such trivial things. I know I don't ... which is why I found it so difficult to read your PM earlier with a "straight" face reply posts and such ... why does it matter?

As long as you all worship at the Temple of Jane, the ISN Anchor, it's all good.

You know, someone with too much time on their hands, *could* change their user status to show as a moderator......not that I would do that, of course! How do you change it btw?

Customizing your title as a sign of status

To change it go to the "User CP" click on "edit profile." Enter your desired title in the "Custom User Text" box for "new title" and then "submit modifications."

You can not name yourself moderator... the system will change it to "*********"
(I had to try, am glad it can't happen.)

I love it that this system allows custom titles...
