  • Help! I've lost my avatar

I found a cool new avatar and tried to use the 'Edit Avatar' link. I got my old one off but can't figure out how to upload the new one. Is it me (probably...)?

    Jan:

To upload a new avatar from the "Edit Avatar" page:

Check "Use Custom Avatar", type the path to your avatar in the edit box below "Upload an Avatar From Your Computer", then press "save changes".

The path you type into the edit box should look something like "c:\myavatar.jpg". You can alternately type a URL address into the "Enter Avatar URL" field and it will download it from a web location.

Let me know if you have any problems.

There's no option to upload an avatar on my screen. It looks like:

      Edit Avatar
      Your Current Avatar

No Avatar Specified Avatars are small graphics that are displayed under your username whenever you post.
Do not use an avatar (this is a radio button I can't deselect)
Note: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.

Give it a try now. For some reason the 'Moderators' group lost the permission to upload customer avatars. Probably a side effect of the vBulletin upgrade last week.

Thanks, Doug. Leave it to me to decide to experiment right then. Everything's fine now.

Oh... thief AND liar all in the same package. How very efficient of you

(Sorry, couldn't resist. I just recently read Peter Davids great novelization of "In the beginning" and watched the movie, and I just love Londo's line in there - so I thought I'd alter it a bit )

every time I see that Avatar Jan I think of the millions of "Every Time you Masturbate God Kills a Kitten" Signs all over the internet. Sorry its most likely a sign that I'm up way way way to early.

ROFL! Okay...hmmm...the first idea I had didn't work once it was shrunk to 100 by 100...Cornholio thinks I'm avatar-jumping (though I've always had it...), cute kittens are obviously out. Flowers might have somebody thinking I'm 'sniffing things'...

So, also being short on sleep, I think there's only one thing to do. I'll take this over to 'off-topic' and ask for suggestions. Let's see what the population can come up with for me. (I'm afraid...I'm very afraid...)
