  • JMSNEWs being Slow

Is it just me or has JMSnews gotten alot slower at updating the front page of the site. Its seemed that until recently that the site would have JMS post up within a few hours to a day after he posted them. Now it seems longer...

    maybe its just me.

No, it's not just you-there are several posts missing at the moment.

A while back there was a spammer who was posting some grotesque 'cannibal' recipes under people's handles to the moderated group. A few got through under JMS's and, iirc, DougO changed the automatic addition of the posts to a manual operation.

It's been a while since the spammer's been seen and I've posted a note to Doug to ask about changing it back. If that's the cause, that is...

It actually has been operating in automatic mode but the message importer unfortunately got wedged

I have fixed the problem and it should be back to importing new message within hours again. Let me know if you see any more problems.

            Maybe, maybe not...

But! I have several witnesses from when I met DougO live and in person at the 2004 Dragon*Con in Atlanta.

            So there!

As IF! I'm shocked and dismayed that you would say such a thing, SpooRancher! Insulted, even!

Yes, there were bags of 'swag' available to be given but that was because we (Amy and I) were conducting 'shadow' Babylon 5 discussion panels and simply wanted to have something nice available for the people who participated.

It was certainly never a bribe! (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

                Hrmph!
