JMS has mentioned the novel coming out before but this is the closest I've heard of a publication date.

Now wait just a second. I think I'd be more likely to believe him if he said it was top 5 or top 10, "but best thing I've written in the prose world." Doesn't that mean I have to hold him to that?!

Well, how much does he actually have out there in the prose world? Do we count the Twilight Zone stories since they're adaptations? I'm not sure you even could have a top 10?

For those who noticed the changed subject, I discovered this in the 'About the Author' blurb for the writing book:

His latest novel, Together We Will Go, will be released in March 2021 from Simon & Shuster.
So Together We Will Go comes out before the writing book! Hmph! Now I want to pre-order that, too! ?

And here's the news promised last night. TOGETHER WE WILL GO is not up for preorder with cover art.

            Major news, everyone!

I’ve always believed in writing stories unlike anything I’d written before, taking chances and pushing myself creatively. And the most significant culmination of that process is Together We Will Go, which has just landed for pre-orders. https://www.amazon.com/Together-We-Will.../dp/1982142588/

It’s not SF, fantasy, or a graphic novel; it’s a mainstream novel about a challenging subject written in epistolary style. I feel it’s one of the best things I’ve written, and maybe one of the most important. If this was all that ended up on my epitaph, I’d be okay with that. It’s that kind of book. Personal as hell.

Together We Will Go is a deeply personal love letter about characters who are beautiful and flawed, who got lost on the road only to find others willing to share their journey, however it may end. It’s quirky, funny, tragic, and most of all, optimistic at a time when that is in short supply.

The publisher describes it as “The Breakfast Club meets The Silver Linings Playbook in this powerful, provocative, and heartfelt novel about twelve endearing strangers who come together to make the most of their final days.”

The story is told through first-person accounts that reveal what brought our diverse characters together and why. We also see their texts, emails, journals and voicemails, creating the sense of looking over someone’s shoulder in real time as the story unfolds.

The novel will be given a full-court press by Simon and Schuster, one of the world’s largest and most respected publishers. I am particularly humbled by the fact that it’s coming out from their Scout Press imprint, which is reserved for books they consider of significant literary importance.

I’m very proud of it, and the publisher is excited by what it’s about, what it means, and where this all may go. I’ve had several career-defining moments in my life; this, I believe, is another. The plot description can be found at the site in terms better and clearer than can be done here.

I commend this book to you unreservedly. I would love nothing more than for the various groups who follow and support my work to spread the word about this so that we can bring the pre-orders to a level that would put it on the NY Times list the day it formally launches on 6 July.

As with much of my work, Together We Will Go is about hope, and love, and sacrifice; about the wonder and the glorious flaws of being human; it’s about what we can mean to, and for, one another; and what we stand for when standing is the hardest. I love this book, and I believe you will as well.
Looking forward to this a lot!

About which special cat do we all think about, when looking at the book cover?

                For sure!

Another tidbit, this time about the audio book in response to somebody requesting Peter Jurasik again:

There are twelve characters in the story, and it's all told through their unique points of view, in first person, so as much as I love Peter, a single narrator would be difficult to pull off.

We will be having a large cast, almost like an audio drama. Cast/readers are still being locked down.

Ah yes, I forgot about an audio book. I sure wish he would utilize audio more for his storytelling. I listen to old SUSPENSE radio programs in my car and it is just wonderful. I mean you all know what I think he could do with audio dramas.

You do know he's talked about having audio dramas in the works, right? I think this book will be perfect for multi-voiced reading given the number of characters. That would be way too much to ask of a single narrator.

Yes I do know. I am just ready for "in the works" to become produced reality. ??

I'll give it this, at least they got a good cover designer this time.
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

                            Kosh: Good!

It's very attractive. But to me, it looks more like a cozy mystery than anything. Not sure that fits the description.
