You're probably right. I'd have to see the episode again. Drat, it'll be a while 'cause I just sent them off.

Oh, it was there alright. When Kurdy was running up the slope, we could see, like, rays of light from the other side.

They COULD be man-made. Or other-worldly. Maybe I'll know in 32 episodes time? It was obviously left ambiguous by choice.

Okay, I do remember the light sort of now. The one thing I can tell you is a theme that carries throughout the show is that one word on the rock.

Nothing says miracles have to be big splashy events, does it? Couldn't it be that they were just seeking the miracle for themselves?

Well, I never thought of it that way. But I think that they said that they wanted to give [other] people something to believe in. Maybe I'm wrong...

My memory's foggy on this one but wasn't it more that the monks wanted to witness the funeral for the world or something? Sorry, I can't check because my DVDs are on loan right now. Still, you might want to keep an eye out for monks (she says vaguely).

Again, my memory is failing a little but I don't remember any mysterious light. No, I agree that if they did just disappear, it's not terribly consistant with what we know of that universe. It's pretty consistant for JMS, though. He enjoys leaving those little mysteries scattered around.

Anyways: my opinions of this episode, which I saw a few days ago:

Booooring!

There was nothing to develp the arc.

Now, iamsheridan, I'm surprised at you. How can you know that there's nothing there to develop the arc until you've seen all of the episodes?

Nothing happened in the whole episode. The bad guys were there for, like, 5 minutes.

The love story: Boring.

I thought it showed a side of Kurdy we hadn't seen before. Yet I don't think it was so much his loving or being attracted to the girl as it was wanting someplace and some people to belong to and be accepted by.

There were gigantic plot holes.
* The group wanted to create a miracle. But who was supposed to know about it? In a world with almost no communication, they just to disappear. Hadn't Kurdy been there, no one would have known about it.

* The monk-types that were a part of the group claimed that they wanted to keep knowledge through these hard times (if I remember it correctly?), but they disappeared with the others. Not a smart thing to do if you want to be the keeper of knowledge (and haven't I seen this in another series somewhere? )
