  • Various shows on the Boob Tube

Since my old haunt is abandoned I was wondering about general fan reviews for some shows like:

    Seth McFarlane's The Orville

Season One of the HBO Westworld

    Z Nation

    Last Man On Earth

    Star Trek: Discovery

    MST3K: The Return (Netflix)

High School Of The Dead (anime)

    Attack On Titan (anime)

Dancing With The HasBeens erm Stars -- Wait, nevermind this one.

I'd say just plug them into google or Youtube for podcasts. Can't say I listen to anything regular for the mentioned titles. But something as popular as Attack on Titan MUST have multiple blogs or podcasts.

If you are asking where you can start discussions or find discussions on those shows DJDaveUSA the answer is in the Off-Topic Discussion section. That is where we try to discuss everything non-JMS related. Occasionally you will find a thread in other sections not specifically tied to JMS, but they are probably tied to someone involved with Babylon 5, Sense 8, or another JMS related project. Random TV shows and movies should go down in the Off-Topic. Hope that helps. If it doesn't I tried.

I've been watching The Orville and enjoying it so far - though I haven't finished the second episode yet.

ST: D premiers this week doesn't it? Haven't seen any reviews. Personally, though I might watch the first one, I've no intention of watching it on the pay site.

They have embargoed all reviews of the show until it ST: Discovery airs. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. I think they're trying to build some hype / tension around the launch.

I have Netflix as my standard source of TV so will be watching on there. I imagine the first episode will be on hundreds of 'totally legit' (cough, splutter) streaming sites. So access really won't be an issue if you want to test the waters.

My understanding is that the first episode will air on free TV and after that it'll only be available on (iirc) CBS All-Access which I have no intention of getting. It won't be available on Netflix here in the States so i doubt I'll be watching even the first episode.

Ahhh, that kinda sucks. You could always use a VPN, set your location to the UK so when you login to Netflix, you'd have access to UK content. Pretty easily done. Slightly frowned upon, but nothing more than that.

That would mean I were particularly interested which I'm afraid I'm really not.

Figured out one thing that's annoyed me about The Orville: The use of up-to-the-minute slang. I'm sorry, saying 'bite me' in the hundreds of years future is about as likely as anybody now sayin 'gag me with a spoon' would be.

I saw episode one of The Orville. I thought it was decent enough, but I feel Jan is correct and they could be more creative with the humor and language.

My own netflix is advertising star trek discovery as being available from September 25th, which is monday.
It is at times like this i am happy i finally have my dream setup, 1080p projector, dolby 5.1 speakers and sub woofer. This is how that kind of sci fi is meant to be watched.
"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

Thank you Jan and DougO! Board issues resolved.

                      Okay,

First- My apologies for posting in the wrong forum. I thought i was in a General forum area. Glasses bad. BAD glasses!

Second- i was interested in the opinions of the JMSNews members, as I've already tracked down the opinions of the masses. LOL

Third- Looney, It's your turn to refill the gas tank on the last generator over at ISN. Remember, that Walking Dead clock is ticking down.....
Why? Because you're in the neighborhood and Mr. Rogers "ain't".

                      Fourth- Oh Nevermind.

I just watched The Good Doctor's first episode. There's a small B5 connection in that Daniel Dae Kim (Matheson on Crusade) is an Executive Producer and Tamlyn Tomita (Takashima in The Gathering) guest starred.

While the initial blurb makes it sound a little too close to House MD, the huge difference is that the main character is quite likeable. Naturally this episode was setting up quite a bit. I'm not sure all of the characters are quite individual enough for my taste but naturally there were only glimpses and there are a fair number of them.

I'll definitely look out for a second or third episode.

Wait are you saying InHumans was bad? I haven't seen it yet.

And you are looking forward to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or not? The "" confuses it. I am looking forward to S.H.I.E.L.D. I thought the last season was pretty ridiculous, but VERY entertaining.
