  • Jeremiah

Two seasons of "Jeremiah" are on HBO Nordic, I am planning to start watching now.

Anyone else in the Nordic countries, here is the chance of seeing some JMS stuff. I just hope it does not disappear before I finish watching

Ooh, nice! Been too long since I watched that. I should do so again...at least the JMS episodes. Never cared for the Sam Egan ones.

You are in for a treat Jan. Very different from Babylon 5, but still classic JMS. Too bad it only lasted two seasons. (And it really isn't as good B5, but it is still very good - in a different way.) Plus I think Jeremiah is overlooked as a precursor to some big shows that are being made today.

Just finished the double pilot episode, I like it so far.

Will probably end up doing 2 - 4 episodes per day when there is time, so I take it easy.

I'll be interested to read your thoughts as you go along, Jan!

I watched that show. Liked it better than sense8, but not nearly as much as I like B5. If I remember correctly, the non JMS episodes were my favorite ones. I loved season 2 the best until something happened and then I hated the rest of the show very muchly.

Show is worth at least one viewing, I think.

It's been so long time since I watched the show in it's entirity. I remember not being particularly taken with it, or being that bothered that it was cancelled.

I do remember me and my ex had a running joke that Jerimiah 'helping' women in distress normally equated to him ending up in bed with them.

                Just finished episode 8.

I like it so far. clearly created by JMS, I recognize several of his hallmarks.

Just the last episode there was the comment that echoes Ivanova in B5 - that we have to decide what kind of world we want to live in, or others will do it for us.

Good stuff, continuing at a slow pace, and mixing it with other stuff I need to do/watch/read etc.

I'd never heard of it before but there's apparently a new SF-oriented station called COMET that will be showing Jeremiah starting in September.

WOW! I could actually watch it in my area . . . if I had cable TV.

I'm wondering if it'll be the original or the 'clean' version. As I recall, JMS mentioned that there were some scenes shot two ways with a view to future syndication.

Shudder. It still surprises me how many concessions had to be made for network TV!

God bless the likes of HBO and Netflix. Although, that said, we are often seeing the inverse of that now; with TV shows often aspiring to be dark for the sake of it. This is just as bad.

Exhuming this thread to let folks know that Jeremiah Season 2 is available with Amazon Prime. Not season one, but that's still available on DVD.

I liked season two a LOT!

Do you have access to it? Then can you tell us if it is in widescreen? (Likely.) And is it HD? (Likely not.)

Widescreen, yes. Doesn't say anything about HD.
