  • How depressing....

Ten new posts in the Jeremiah section! Spam, spam, mega-spam, and spam. Depressing indeed.

Looking forward to this series, I have seen about six episodes of season one and liked what I saw so far. Just got season one and two on dvd so I don't have to rely on my expired netflix account anymore.

Spam?? Why, whatever do you mean?

Do be sure to post your thoughts as you watch. It's been too long since I've watched it, myself.

Just finished the first season. It was not bad, nothing spectacular but it was entertaining enough. First seasons can be like that though, laying the groundwork for what is to come. Looking forward to starting the second season.

Only a couple of episodes in and this season definitely has more structure than season one. I am also liking some of the cast additions, Sean Astin's character in particular. I must say though... I do miss the opening theme from season one though.... Anyone know where I can get an mp3 for the season one theme?

I liked Mister Smith a lot! When Sean Astin was at a con a few years ago I had him autograph one of the scripts and he paused the long line long enough to say how much he enjoyed that role (much to the annoyance of the expediter).

So what did you think of the way JMS got Jeremiah out of the season one cliffhanger?

Those first two episodes of the second season were awesome. I know the show has been off the air for a few years but I still don't want to write out spoilers. But bringing that character in for what they did was very well written and quite unexpected. Overall it was a great way to tie up most of the current story arc and move on to the next.

It's interesting; having watched season two in pretty much a single uninterrupted run, I thought it held up very well that way. I realize that's not the way the season way constructed, so maybe it's not fair to judge it by that criteria. I'm still on the fence about Mr. Smith. Sometimes he's a bit too, well, JMS-ish for my taste, if that makes any sense and yet there are moments when Sean Astin plays him brilliantly. The scene when he discovers who is behind some of the events taking place and confronts her; it's still one of the highlights of the entire series.

I'm sure by now it's fine to post spoilers but there's also the handy, dandy 'Spoil' button
that will hide what you post
untill the reader highlights that area.

I haven't seen the show yet so have not read though much of this thread. Just bought the first season DVDs for $7 on Amazon.

I noticed the second still sells for upwards of $50 or more. Must be a comment of how much better it got

My wife and I watched season 2 over a period of 5-6 days and loved watching it like that. For us, it was a real step up in quality from season 1, and only reinforced our disappointment that there wasn't going to be a season 3.

More than that, we have now adopted the marathon approach to other shows that we really like ... we are currently building up our stock of new The Walking Dead and Fringe to binge on over Christmas.

Watched the Jeremiah pilot today and it's not bad.

Hope he finds an apocalypse box under the seat or at the least Joe works in some more Crusade into the plot.

Is the second season still a Print (Press?) on Demand setup? I'm just glad it's available at all.

Don't hold your breath on that one. I do love Jeremiah and Kurdy's first meeting!

Sorry Jan, I don't think my phrasing was very good.
Meant to say that the second season Jeremiah DVDs continue to sell for upwards of $50 as listed on Amazon.
But now I see them reduced to $41.99 with free shipping.
(Probably just what is in stock)

The used season-2 DVDs from Amazon's third party sellers start at 55.82

The best deal is the the digital download but I don't see season-2 listed on Amazon - it's $28.00 on iTunes

I suppose you could bit-torrent the whole thing for free
But I like the DVD extras.

Something we generally discourage discussion of around here since we're big on creator's rights

There are none. That's what I meant with my question about the release.

Season two was never released commercially and there are no extras - no outtakes, no interviews, no commentaries even no box art. Just the episodes.

Wow, I see what you mean now.
I had not bought a product from Amazon that has been released on DVD-R media before and missed that notice on the product page.
Thanks for the heads-up, I canceled my order.

"DVD-R Note: This product is manufactured on demand when ordered from Amazon.com"

When the time comes, I'll purchase the full season from iTunes.
