  • Special coming out in May?

Eating breakfast at the local Waffle House in Sylva, NC and ran into Whispers! Such a nice guy! Btw, he says the finale is coming out in May.

    • Early screening for Chicago residents April 21!

      https://www.timeout.com/chicago/news...-finale-032718

The Music Box, Netflix and Lana Wachowski, along with her wife Karin, will host the sneak preview screening of the special-now reportedly clocking in at 151 minutes-on April 21 at 7:30pm, as a benefit for Emily’s List.
Looks like earlier hints the special will be over 2 hours might be true!

      • Great news all around!!

This is also important to mention:

The theater couldn't confirm for us this afternoon when that onsale date will be or how much tickets will cost, but we do know that the screening will be followed by a Q&A with “directors and selected cast”—and that a VIP ticket tier will be available that includes a pre-show meet and greet with those cast members and directors.
So if you are living in Chicago, don't miss this opportunity people. (And also make sure to record the Q&A!)

          That does bode well.

          • Spanish actress/dancer Arly Jover is now listed as playing someone named George. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt7083044/...=tt_cl_sm#cast

Whether true or not, who knows, but apparently Jover lives in Paris nowadays according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arly_Jover so it's not impossible.

I note no writing credit for JMS on the special. I know we'd had it confirmed that he'd stepped away, but I still think this is a crying shame. I guess he had work conflicts or felt it best to just let Lana run with it after she'd done so much on S2. I always find myself second guessing who wrote what for S1 and 2, but it's gotta be really blurry as they edited and re-wrote each others scripts.

JMS confirmed on Twitter a while back that after the show was cancelled, he'd taken other commitments and wasn't able to break away for co-writing the special.

                • He is sill an exec prod and gave notes on the script I’m assuming.

Could be, but if so, he'd probably have a writing credit. There was an article that was linked here a while back by one of the other writers talking about how Lana would re-write in mid-scene. Sounded horribly hard on the actors.

Unlikely. Hemon went into great detail on the season 2 and finale special writing process and mentioned several times JMS, but none regarding the special, only about season 2. His last mention of JMS is that he moved on to other projects, and that was prior to the renewal, so before a script was written. So it's doubtful. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/pe...ing-for-sense8

We spent the following week cutting the script down to some hundred and thirty pages that could go out to the producers, the assistant director, and the location scouts, all of whom were eager to start preparing the shoot, the dates for which were quickly set. The production team reactions and suggestions resulted in another, shorter draft-the reading version-which went out to actors.
