  • JMS' hints how the story would have continued / concluded

Obviously don't read this thread unless you've seen all 2 seasons. JMS' tweets in bold.

Can I just get some closure at least ? What happens to all the characters ? Do they get justice ?

They would get justice, and they would change the world forever. For the better.
If we hit it out of the ballpark, can we get a synopsis on what happens to Wolfgang?

Let's just say: it was Whispers who put Wolfgang in there, so it's only apt that he be traded (sorta intact) to get Wolfgang back out again.
Phew thank god my wolfie was safe!! Do kala and Wolfgang get together?

Let's just say I believe in happy endings and leave it at that.
We always thought that for S8 to feel real one of the 8 would have to die, but we couldn't decide who, so we figured we'd pick the most...

...annoying cast member and kill that character. But all the cast members were terrific. So much for that plan.
If u had to pick one, who would you pick and why?

Nothing was ever set, no specific plans, but Will has always struck me as a man looking for something worth dying for.
It's funny; writers tend to return to certain themes. Check the Silver Surfer's final gift to mankind in Requiem, imagine it permanent.
and what exactly would he be dying for? is that why you just told us to read silver surfer requiem?

    Maybe.
oh wow... will might have died in all this! well that was a plot twist i would have died to see!

Let me restate: we never set this, nothing was finalized/formalize, we only ever knew it had to be one of them. The rest is just my opinion.
@straczynski I just want to know which of the cluster would have given birth? Please tell me you know!

It could have been all of them, in the biggest cluster imaginable...maybe...really, who can say?
@straczynski some questions we never got answered .... are all clusters born in groups of 8??

No, clusters come in all sizes, but 8 is an exceptionally and unusually large cluster.
Of course our cluster is exceptional ❤

And in a very odd sort of way, that's exactly the point of, and destination for, the whole show.
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO KILL RILEY.

Couldn't kill Riley...Riley becomes Che Guevara (minus the events in Bolivia)....
@straczynski may I ask; was Riley intended to birth a new cluster? I always felt that her motherly qualities were what made her so special.

Yes, along with the others, on a considerably more massive scale.
@straczynski Can you talk about Sun ? What was your plans for her ?

Detective survives, ID's brother as shooter, plea bargain, wraps up Sun's alleged guilt, she gets her life back.
My last question: is Angelica conscious in the cluster or just an echo? I thought an echo until she was apologizing to Wolfgang in the end

When part of you lives on in someone else's consciousness, like a neural upload to an AI, what is death after that?
I think JMS pretty much revealed how it was going to end; our cluster of sensates is very special and all 8 (or 7, since 1 of them was going to die) give a massive sensate birth, which I think, he hints it to be the entirety of humanity, changing the world forever.

I am sad that we won't get to see that, but I like it very much, and I'm very happy he told us.

If he says more I'll post it in this thread.

Here's the event he was talking about happening to everybody in the world permanently:

"As empathy spreads, civilization spreads. As empathy contracts, civilization contracts...as we're seeing now.

      Couple more:

What about Kala? This sounds bad, but I totally want her to leave her husband and end up with Wolfgang. 😊

She's in a hard place. So it'd be a real shame at a time like this if something happened to Rajan because of his business dealings.
Was Rajan involved with BPO ?

      No.

Nice article except it assumes that everything JMS revealed would have been in season three instead of over the five-year arc:

Cool to get an idea of where it was ultimately going. Shame we'll never see it on screen.
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

          Kosh: Good!

True. And there are so many human moments we won't see. But at least knowing where it would be in the end will do for me. And it makes me more certain that the 'final episode' style movie that some are clamoring for isn't something I'm interested in.

I never think the 'final feature length movie' thing is a good solution for concluding a series, unless it has logically reached a point where this would be suitable. However, if TV is your medium, a show generally needs time to play out in a satisfying way. Fully agree with you, also have zero interest in this.

New round of answers. JMS' replies in bold.

Thank you! I've scoured your posts, but I can't find anything else on Lito/Hernando/Daniela. Can you tell us anything about their future?

There were three different ways we were exploring going for the characters, all good, but were going to nail down specifics in S3-4.

So I can't say definitively "this is what we were going to do" because the pieces were still in motion.
Sensates can acess the Psycellium because their bodies produces more DMT than homo sapiens bodies?

                That's not a specific cause-and-effect, but there's certainly a byproduct aspect.
@straczynski Jonas: friend or foe? What was his real intention making a deal with the Chairman?

                Yes and no. And revenge.
@straczynski Why Whispers hates his own kind so much? What is his backstory?

He doesn't hate his own kind. His hunting comes from long-term self-preservation, not hatred. But that's as far as I can go in the telling.
@straczynski R there clues in Homo Sensorium term paper to why Whispers became dead to empathy? I put $8 each for my family fans to CVHS.

He's not so much dead to empathy as focused on his own survival. And thanks for the donation.
@straczynski why was Whispers the "Cannibal"? how/why did he eat his own cluster?

By hunting and in a way devouring his own kind (sensates). There's a huge implication behind Bolger & art killer everyone's missed.
Do you mean that when Bolger and the art killer were lobotomized, Whispers in some way 'consumed' a part of them, like their identity?

Too literal an interpretation of cannibal, but the process did open a door.
@straczynski Sharing only w/i cluster. Bolger & art killer were in Whispers' cluster. Surgery makes Whispers keystone of that cluster. Hmm.

No, neither Bolger nor the art killer were in Whisper's cluster. That's what makes his program so dangerous.
Bolger was about body control (create army?) which was Whisper's ultimate goal????? Eventually go after homosapiens?

Nope. More subtle and elegant. But that's as far as I can go in the telling.
Did he hunt down and kill the other members of his cluster or just other clusters?

                A little of both.
Is this the origin of/inspiration behind the zombie experiments?

                Yep.
My mind is racing, does whispers have a global network of Bolgered sensates? Is suicide the only way to break the connection? @straczynski

                Yes.

And it's not the Bolgered sensate who pulls the trigger, it's Whispers creating a throw-down body like a throw-down gun.
are zombies failed result of whispers researching how to share with sensates outside of his own cluster, instead of only visiting?

in an attempt to create a more peaceful world by first researching on homosensoriums and find out if they can bridge e gap with homosapiens

id imagine some if not all of those within whispers own cluster were sympathetic to his cause, like angelica was. sorta in '4greater gd' way

Well, that was her cover story, for sure....
@straczynski you can both be born a sensate and become a sensate?

Genetically one is born a latent sensate and you stay more-or-less dormant until being triggered in a second-birth.
Can a Sensate birth happen anytime or does it depend on certain emotions, events, the age of the 'parent' or 'children'?

There's no hard and fast rule regarding age.
@straczynski For Sense8 are you able to give any details on character arcs now or do you want to remain vague? I'm curious wrt Wolfgang/Kala

Noted in a tweet below, they have a happy ending, and Rajan has consequences from his business dealings.
                is Sara Patrell really dead?

                Yes. She is an Ex-Patrell.

A couple of question courtesy of Jan, and a few more.

Why is it that all the experiments and zombiefied sensates were all about making them kill people? Seems there'd be other uses, too?

That's the only thing for which Whispers could get lots of covert money from govt' black budgets which he then siphon into his own interests

If we were shown those, I must've missed it. Or was that coming?

It was the scene in s2e1 where Will sees a gathering of guys in expensive suits as a zombie knifes a guard.

Thanks, will re-watch. Thought that was part of the earlier zombie experiments rather than Whispers own agenda/interests.

Correct, I was thinking about those who came later. Mea culpa.
J.M, we got a hint about the ending of almost every character, but nothing about Nomi and Capheus. could you reveal something, pls?

I can only convey the points about which there was final consensus among us; some characters were still in flux.
You maybe answered this before, if so sorry! I looked for it. All the Sensates are amazing of course, but who's your favorite and why?

Let's just say that there is an awful lot of my own personal history in Wolfgang.
Were Dani, Hernando and Amanita latent senates?

                  No.
@straczynski u said u could only tell us things that were agreed to happen to certain characters, did u have anything in mind for Lila?

                  Nothing pleasant.
