  • Episode 211 - You Want A War? - SPOILERS

Tenth episode to drop May 5.

IMDb only numbers through episode 2.10 but all indications were that *ten* episodes are dropping on May 5.

Yeah, the total count depends on if one counts the special as episode 2x00 or 2x01, but regardless of that, 10 new episodes premiere on May 5!

Since JMS specified that the scene he was talking about was production number 208 I went with that.

      C'mon...episode titles, please!!

The last sequence of this episode is insane and totally unexpected like that cliffhanger jesus christ!!!!!!

edit: wanna add that i think because of the cliffhanger and the way everything ends up i feel like a potential season 3 is even more likely now, obviously due to the fact that season 3 will *likely* have less filming around the world and i think it makes sense for the whole season to take place in the one location everything ended and happening over the course of a few days (like probably less than a week). also think that if season 3 does end up in this way, that it will 100% get released before 2019

Maybe...but I wouldn't count on it. A large part of the show's identity is that it's so global. I think they may have to split up in order to confuse any pursuers knowing where they're keeping Jonas and Whispers.

And speaking of which, what did I miss? How did Capheus get the money to go to London and what was his excuse? Where are Will and Riley getting the money to fly around as they do? Ditto Amanita and Nomi (though I can see Nomi getting access to funds)? Is Nomi still using Whispers' credit card as she did to rent the car in Iceland?

I noticed a lot of people asking online and apparently they asked JMS, too:

@straczynski was Wolfgang in the van at the end or not???? #sense8

Had he been in the van he would have been shown. Was being held in a far more secure area. Now the trade-off starts.

Yeah, I wonder if they will do a flashback to explain all those things they didn't show.

I guess that's true, though it would be an interesting turn of events if they contained the entirety of season 3 to just be resolving a trade-off for Wolfgang in London.

I assumed Kala provided the funds for most of their tickets, seeing as she is the most financially stable especially in this kind of emergency. I don't think Nomi would have had the time to get them the tickets illegally or something, but I think she played a part in getting Sun and Capheus' passports. On the other hand, Lito could have provided funds but I don't think he would be able to after buying the new apartment and not having a job for what seems like quite some time.

Will and Riley were already in London by episode 5 (206). At the beginning of the episode, they're on a train either in England or on their way to England. In the same episode, Sun and Riley have a conversation on Primerose Hill just after the pride parade in Sao Paulo.

By the last episode, I assumed Nomi and Amanita had gone back to their "regular lives" with Nomi no longer being on the run from the FBI, which still confused me because wouldn't BPO still be after her?

In Iceland, she used Metzger's cards! Again, I think it's most likely Kala provided funds.

But yes, hopefully everything is explained in flashbacks or just like a quick montage-like run-through of the events that led up to kidnapping Whispers and Jonas!!

Kabaka could have paid Capheus' ticket. He is marrying his mother after all...

                  Well. Last Episode!

Strangely enough this was, by far, my least favourite episode of the entire season (not counting the Xmas Special). It felt strangely rushed, with too many threads to tie up in one episode.

BPO seemed waaaay too easy to infiltrate and it all came together too quickly for me to into buy it. I know there was a BPO insider within the extended sensate network, but still... I would have liked to see more of what went into making it work. I also struggled with the concept of the Sensates flying to London, strategically it appears to be a very dumb move, especially when not all of them are technically required for the heist. it's only Will that really needs to be on blockers, so it seems a tad extreme. In fact, it almost goes against the point of them being Sensates, they can access all those abilities at a distance.

Two or three of them should have been more than enough to pull it off. This kind of risk does not compute. They just risked the entire cluster being captured in one fell swoop. Maybe a lot of this episode got left on the cutting room floor, I don't know, but I could have happily ditched the entire Xmas special for an extra 45 mins or so to flesh this out.

I would have much preferred the show to end on Ep 2.10 and then give us a more meaty version of the BPO heist at the start of S3.

Finishing up Sun's season long arc and Wolfgang getting bagged would have been enough of a shocker for a S2 cliffhanger.

All round this was a superb season, but i felt a bit let down by the finale. A lot of the internal logic around the BPO heist just didn't work for me. I do plan a re-watch of the entire season, because it's very dense this time around.

Annnd....Yes, wait a sec. Aren't Nomi and Amanita officially 'dead'!? How on earth would they travel internationally? I guess we can always apply the magical 'fake ID / Hacking' deus ex machina, but I'm still left a bit unconvinced.

Just noticed Sun's fake passport (which lists her as "Sun Bae" - half the character's name, and half the actress') shows a birth date of 8/8/88.

Dammit, when are we going to learn if '88 is indeed the cluster's year of birth?? Why did they have to put it on the FAKE passport, so that we can't arrive to any conclusion?!!

I was just discussing the 'rules of how the Sensates operate' in the episode 202 thread and something occurred to me about this episode, more specifically the torture of Wolfgang affecting the Sensates physically.

It's a neat callback to Riley's asphyxiation in S1E06 during her kidnapping. Will also responds physically to this. At the time it confused me a lot, but i think it has to do with the intensity of the link between sensates and how that increases over time.

I could be wrong here, but it's notable that Lito seems most harshly affected by the torture, and this makes total sense as he and Wolfgang have shared abilities a lot during the past season. I think the 'sharing' as opposed to just ''visiting' is significant here. Clever little touch that I hadn't thought of initially.

Interesting. Do you recall if anybody seemed more affected by Sun's hanging than others?

I believe Capheus was the first to react to Sun getting tasered; and I think the intensity of the link between sensates has more-so do with who they are most connected to, their state of mind/emotion, and/or whether or not they are calling out for help from the others.

They seem to be connected most to who they connected to first (which is probably intentional). There's Will and Riley; Nomi and Lito; Wolfgang and Kala; Capheus and Sun.

They also seem to connect to a specific person when they feel something intensely. Like when they're nervous, they'll go to Sun. When Lito's scared, he'll go to Nomi. When they're having difficulty expressing or emoting, they'll go to Lito; whenever Wolfgang feels his life is in danger, he'll go to Kala.

I do think this is different when they are in need of help. They can call specifically to someone, or call to all of them. Like during Sun's hanging, she is only shown to have called out to Nomi, but additionally, Wolfgang and Will come to her aid since she likely was calling out to all of them to help her. The rest of the cluster then felt the tasering/hanging because I feel like they all responded to knowing Sun was in danger.

With Wolfgang, it's different. In S2E08, prior to meeting with Lila it looked like he didn't want help but the cluster pretty much knew he needed it when he visited all of them (Lito isn't the only drama queen!). I think in the finale it was different probably because he was trying to hold back from connecting to the others since he was captured and didn't want to try to endanger any of them, and because at the time he is only connecting with Kala so it makes sense she was the only one to call for help/feel tasered. Interesting about Wolfgang and Lito though, didn't notice that before
