This seems great for anyone that didn't shell out on the deluxe coffee table book.

For those of us that did, I'm not sure I see the point. A few Youtube videos really doesn't swing it for me. It's not the kind of book I want on a mobile device, kinda defeats the purpose for me. The whole appeal was the deluxe coffee table / art book format.

Still, some will find this very useful and it's a far more accessible price point for the casual fan.

Sounded interesting until I read it's a not a digital copy, it's an ONLINE copy. Meaning when the servers go down, you will no longer be able to access it. Meh.
My posts are my own opinion and do not represent JMSNews.com's opinions or views. As it's written under my handle I'm "just a fan".

Not necessarily when - because the B5 Books folks have already a plan for many years already in place for the B5 encyclopedia. Suggest that you email [email protected] for more information than this:

DO I HAVE TO PAY A MONTHLY FEE OR UPGRADE FEE AT ANY TIME?
Absolutely not. Pay once, access for a lifetime. This edition is being hosted by Cablan.net which is owned by a Babylon 5 mega-fan. We have pre-paid the first 10 years of hosting.

A DRM free download would still be an excellent option though. You buy it, and you own it. No strings.

Even the most robust server plans can go awry with time.

I had zero hesitation just because it is $37. I was on eBay last night prepared to spend that much on any random collectible I could find that struck my fancy. I hadn't checked anything all day and didn't know about this. Thankfully I didn't find anything immediately and then I found out about this. Plus I believe this is the cheapest they've ever offered anything. I would have liked a physical copy, but I'll take what I can get.

I like it both for folks who have the coffee table book and those who don't (and I'm not just saying that because I work with them sometimes). Lots of times it's simply more con I particularly liked the example they used of the Medlab.
