    Twitter

    Greetings from the Bridge,

We have only soft-launched Twitter which is why our follower number is no where near the 5-digits-plus we expect once we formally announce it by the end of the month.

Related inside scoop: we're gearing up for the 10th anniversary of Babylon 5 Books in October which means we've been putting together some sweet (and free!) surprises.

    Faith Manages,
    Captain Jaclyn

P.S. We finally got the Anniversary Fan Experience back in stock (popular!). Debut discount ends Feb 26 and the price goes up by $41. Help get the word out.

I sure wish that every B5 fan would just come to #FREEBABYLON5 to join an email list or something. We need a place where news like the B5 books wouldn't be missed. I don't mean that they all have to join and post stuff, just get the news so they don't miss anything. And I am not saying there has been any lack of trying to get this done, just that it is a shame it hasn't worked as well as I wish it would. Times like these really make me miss an official B5 fan club, but I didn't even know about that until it was almost gone.

One thing that did surprise me though, was how many people (modellers, game developers, painters, etc.) who are still very active within the fan base didn’t even know (until I mentioned it to them) there was a collection of books to purchase. Fans can be surprisingly cliquey I’ve noticed. Little self contained bubbles of differing interests within this virtual can of soda which only occasionally bump into each other.
Indeed. We do tend to be pretty focused (a word I prefer to clique). As many places as I tried to go for #FreeBabylon5, I didn't feel like I scratched the surface of the B5 fans.

At least 60,000 like that kind of material. As for how many will hand over their hard earned after all this time, without hacking the B5Books team, I’m guessing a few thousand, maybe. I'm sure it'll grow a lot once it's mentioned in a newsletter. Even so, there are so many folks with a favorite medium I'm not sure how indicative the info will be. For all I know, they could have a Google+ presence but I'd never find it on my own since I'm never over there - just don't care for it. Same thing with Tumblr (or however you spell that).
