Just wanted to add my thoughts on the Highlights books.
I received mine last week any they're utterly, utterly great! This is EXACTLY the kind of product I feel B5Books should be focusing on. The Highlights books have wide appeal, especially for the casual fan, and are ideal for new fans who want some extra material to get their teeth into.
These should be available indefinitely. A classy move, which I commend wholeheartedly, primarily because it allows those who missed out to get a very nice taster.

Ordered the two "Highlight" books, hope they arrive before I go to a con in Copenhagen late next month.
I have a presentation to do there, of JMS' work - OK, with someone else knowing much more about the comic side than I do.
Would like to bring those two books, and maybe the B5-20 book, but I am afraid to exceed the weight limit on the plane

If so, would be fascinating to get your feedback / reaction to these 'Highlights' books. They strike me as wonderful for those who never picked up (or couldn't pick up) the originals.

Sounds like KY (home of CafePress) has had some winter issues, too. Captain Jaclyn has extended the Debut Discount to 2/21 and there's a new coupon code: ann0214
As always, check out B5Books.com for full info (yeah, like you didn't know that!)

I just ordered mine. WOW! Thought I missed out on the coupon code. It took several tries to get it accepted. Thankfully it worked.

That doesn't really explain why every set since has also been limited edition, but I though it was an interesting insight.
I suppose there's a subtle difference between 'limited edition' (a set number of copies), and 'time limited' (as many as will sell in a certain designated period of time). Whilst the black script books were indeed limited, I do not find them to be particularly scarce, so perhaps 'limited edition' is the wrong term here!?' (bar perhaps Vol. 15). I wasn't aware of them when they were originally solicited and sold, so my analogy may be incorrect. But there's still a lot of them floating around second hand for reasonable prices if you look hard enough.
With the Echoes books, they were limited by the number of signed pages available for each volume, but they could have been kept in print sans signatures if the demand was there. Depends how much you value the signature as part of the package!Last edited by Ubik; 02-14-2014, 08:22 AM.

I like to think future historians will have interest in the topic, and I can think of no more complete body of information.
In a little way I will help the show live on.
