Yes, this book is via Publishing 180 and Cafe Press will be doing the fulfillment. I'm sure the announcement will be coming out shortly before the wide release.

There's also a very special book coming by Harlan Ellison. If you're on the mailing list already, you won't need to sign up again when the big announcement is made in the next (I believe) couple of weeks.

I *finally* got my copy delivered today! No, not the final version, the in-progress version that Pat Tallman was selling at Comic-Con last week. In my infinite 'wisdom' (not!), I shipped it home with some other stuff to save weight and keep things pristine. And I've been itching to read it ever since. As I said, it finally arrived today.

This is a lot of fun! Personal and funny and sad and did I mention funny? Lots of great photos, both candid and posed and a few stories that you may have heard from one point of view told from Pat's point of view. Other stories you've never heard at all.

Oh, yeah...you know the test-tube scene on the Vorlon Homeworld? Yeah, there's pictures from that episode.

I really enjoyed it and this was my first look because I wasn't involved with this book much at all.

So who are Synthetic Worlds Publishing (I noticed the B5 related books seems to be split between it and Publishing 180). Is it connected in anyway with Synthetic Worlds ltd.

Synthetic Worlds is JMS' corporation, Publishing 180 is headed by Captain Jaclyn and the Kilimanjaro corporation holds the copyrights to Harlan Ellison's work in his new book "Brain Movies", also published by Publishing 180.

To be pedantic, Harlan's book is published by Edgeworks Abbey. Only the Other Voices books were published by Publishing 180.

^^ Oops, my mistake. That's what I get for not checking the book directly before posting.

What are the rough specs of the book? How many pages? Are the photos in color inside the book or just on covers?

Only the covers are in color but the photos inside came out really nice (unless they were blurry to begin with, which a few were). Don't know how many pages the final version will end up being since the one I bought was 'in progress' so that Pat could share with the fans at Comic-Con.

I love the design of the book. It's got a touch of steampunk, which I gather Pat's fond of. There are some lovely acknowlegements, dedications, appreciations and a small forward. JMS even wrote an introduction for it.

How many pages? And, approx. how many pictures? (I know it'll just annoy you if I ask, "How many pictures of Andreas out of makeup?," which is basically what I already asked you over on b5tv.com, but can I at least ask if you think I'll find it worth my while? )

As I said above, I don't know how many pages the finished version will have. The one I got was 265 pages. No idea how many pictures and not inclined to count them and add extra wear to a 1-in-50 collectable; maybe there'll be a count in the sales copy when the finished product comes out? Ditto photos fo Andreas but there are some from Be Five recording and a couple more from Wolf 359 and the SF magazine awards. Others that don't immediately come to mind.

Whoops, I'm an idiot, I missed that entirely. Sorry to make you repeat yourself.

Thanks. I guess I was wondering something more like: are there multiple photos per page, or just one per? Because if multiple, they'll be sort of small, yes?

This is a complete digression here, but I was actually on set when Pat did her 'pleasure threshhold' scene with Andreas and the thing that struck me the most was the number of different variations she did with that line, from just throwing it away to making it very sexy. That may well have been the only time I ever got to see those two actors working together, which is why I remember it so well.

It's a range but I'd say that the majority of the time it's no more than two per page which is just slightly smaller than a regular printed photo. Lots of instances of just one photo per page. From what I can tell (not being any kind of photographer), the sizes are appropriatly sized to the captions and other text. The collage style on the cover isn't repeated inside the book, if that helps.

Re: Being on set for that scene. Once again I massively envy you, Joe.

I guess I'm expanding my reviewing to be more than just comics.

I enjoyed the book. It's funny, cute, a lot of good stories, and holy gosh I didn't know that many pictures were out there that I'd never seen before.
