  • Are You Feeling Lucky?

(with apologies to all of the season opening sequences...)

It was the year of the anniversary.
    The year of celebration.
It was the year that vaults were cleared out.

Two years after the Black Series went out of production
it was the last, best hope of getting the original Script Books.

If there's anybody here who perhaps couldn't get the script books when they were available or would like to get another set, you may be able to.

It's been a couple of years since the original 14-voume set (plus 15, of course) went out of production and the promise was that there would never be any more produced. But the Scripts Team is wise in the ways of fans and Real Life and knew that there'd be a number of fans who didn't open their books right away and that there might be customer service issues for some time after the books weren't being produced any longer. So some sets were printed and set aside in order to be able to replace any damaged or misprinted volumes.

So as part of the anniversary celebration (and really, two years is long enough), a mailing went out yesterday offering the chance to be able to buy these last sets. A few folks will be chosen to be given the opportunity to buy these last sets over the next few weeks. Check out: http://www.babylon5scripts.com/lottery.htm

I have to admit I haven't read the books all through except in the beginning. Now I just pick a book, read a script - usually after having seen the episode - and then let it stew a little, check the questions and answers books for things I want to explore further... If I can't find it, I ask you!

And when it's possible (timewise), the same process starts all over again.

So far I haven't noticed any missing pieces or bad pages.

What still amazes me every time is the way those words ended up on the screen. From ink on a page...

How do you use the books?

Agreed. Or thinking, for that matter.

Most of the time I refer back to them to verify a quote for the 'Silly' thread up-forum. Other times it's to re-read the introductions. And I'm not sure if this counts but I sometimes check the Joe Cuts to check my memory of missing or changed scenes.
