  • They're heeeereeeee

I got a rather frantic call from the secretary today, asking me to get to the front desk ASAP. I figured I had a visitor or something, but when I got there, I found four large boxes, all with my name on em.

Two of the boxes contained the B5 scriptbooks I didn't already have ... I had 5, so the other 10 all arrived today.

The other two, from deepdiscount.com, had tons of Doctor Who dvds I'd ordered during their 20% off sale.

I had no idea they'd all arrive on the same day (since they were ordered on different days) all at once.

Woo hoo, once again, complete B5 collection. Yay for me!

And my Vol. 15 arrived today , it was not in the box with the vol.14, but a mail to Jaclyn solved the problem. Hooray for the B5 Script Team ...

Oh, yeah ... after I brought back the massive boxes to my desk, I think about 30 seconds went by before she IM'd me asking "You are planning on taking those home with you, right?" She didn't even know what I had.

She came by and saw two of them marked with "cafe press" on them and asked if they were cookbooks. I laughed and said "G'Kar might think so, cuz he's thinking of thinking." She got this glazed over look and said "Sci fi?" I just laughed again.

As you probably would expect, I went right to volume 15 and started reading, skipping a bit here and there so there's new material when I do a proper read through from the beginning. And what do I find? A perfect new sig line.

Jan, my friend ... The Great Maker is right.

I really didn't need jms to confirm it Omaha! It still makes me laugh just the same.

I wonder how much of Joe's cuts Jan had done ( at leasty mentally) before she ever contacted the scripts team?

Well, I started collecting scripts from the moment I discovered Ebay in early 1998 and I bought the bulk of the collection in 2001. Does that tell you anything? Even so, I probably hadn't sat down with script in one hand and remote in the other for more than 10 or 15 of the scripts because that's just not the best way to enjoy the episodes. Much more commonly, I'd read the script and then watch the episode.

None of us expected for the project to grow the way it did, btw. Originally it was just supposed to be a quick run-through of the episodes to catalogue only full scenes that were deleted rather than the "every single line of every single script" review it ended up being.

Methinks we should send our volume 15s to you to so you can autograph the Joe's cuts section for us.

Jan, sweetie, I just want to take this opportunity to say ... I told you so.

For everybody else, I can say that I heard about the Joe Cuts before I got volume 15.

I said to Jan that I just had to get her to sign it, and she gave me this look like I'd just turned into a Santaran or something. I insisted that I was serious, and said "I bet I'm not the only one." Her response was that her signature would drop any scriptbook's value down to zero. Yeah. Sure.

Now I can confidently say ... I told you so, little Sis.

I too would like Jan's signature on my volume 15.

Honestly I'd love Jacyln's too, but I'm a completist that way.
