  • Buying Scriptbooks from the UK

Well Mrs Ulkosh and I are finally planning to buy the scriptbooks.

We need to figure out cost however.

Presumably.. as these are books, there should be no VAT on them from customs.

Can any other UK buyers confirm or deny this?

    Cheers

When you buy them singly, they fall below the รบ18 limit anyway, so no additional charge. However, my understanding is that there were initially some issues with charges being imposed, so Cafepress altered the way they worded the customs notes on the packaging to make clear that the contents were books and the problem was solved.

There should be some earlier threads on the board about this.

GH is correct. For the first two books back in 2005 (omg...that long ago!), Cafe Press had a generic 'contents' label which caused some issues. I haven't heard of any problems with tax or customs since then, though, because they started listing the actual contents.

If you want to be sure, check with the Scripts Team at [email protected], though.

I used to get my books shipped by UPS and had to pay taxes when I picked them up at the post office. Now I get them by US mail and no tax. Could also be the labelling too.

Many Thanks everyone for the input.

We were intending to buy a whole heap of them in one go.. which would clearly bring us over รบ18.

I think i will contact the helpline to confirm it for such a large order.

          Cheers.

Guess you won't be posting for awhile, too busy reading.
