  • Script Book #9 - September 29

Part of a message from the Scripts Team:

Due to JMS' even crazier than usual schedule -- appearances at Heroes Con in North Carolina and San Diego Comicon, the sale of his latest script to Universal Studios and Ron Howard, and a little something JMS plans to announce this week -- (whew!) we've given him a break and scheduled Volume 9 for release in the second half of August.

Look for an announcement with the exact date soon.

Not posting the rest? shame on you Jan
They also mention the (linited to 500) signed, and framed edition of the declaration of principals. ALthough it's 175$ I may try and obtain one. Only $1 extra to ship internaitonaly.

"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

We might want to be prepared for more delay. As much as we love the script books, this is still a personal project for JMS and has to take second place to his professional commitments.

I'm not saying that he will do so, I just started preparing myself for the possibility when he cancelled his convention appearances.

By all means. I'd rather wait for a script book that JMS has been able to take his time for than see a rushed job that he regrets putting out there for us to see.

He does have more on his plate now than before. I'll take quality over quantity.

Just my luck, when I had to scrounge for the money, they were coming out regularly. Now that I can afford them more easily, things slow down. Waiting for money, now waiting for books. At least in this, there is symmetry.

Book 9 is Delayed until September

Just mailed from the JMS Scripts Team:

                        From J. Michael Straczynski

As many of you may already know, a few days ago as I write this, I canceled all of my convention appearances through February of next year due to the press of work, both in terms of finishing up work on my script for Ron Howard, and in order to free up room to begin the process of writing, producing, and directing the first in what we hope will be a series of new Babylon 5 anthology episodes for DVD.

The other result of this is that we are going to push back volume nine just far enough to make room for me to get these projects up and on the rails. It will not be much of a delay, it will be a September release, but the Babylon 5 scripts team and I wanted to make sure everyone knew about the delay, and that it is only a delay.

The good thing is that the delay is caused primarily by the creation of new Babylon 5 episodes, to be produced with the original cast, which is a cause for celebration on every level imaginable. We hope to follow up this with another announcement with the September publication date for volume nine as quickly as possible, so stay tuned, for as they say in the television business...there is more to come.

Just got the e-mail myself. It's a good thing though, the guy is very busy right now. We all want to see more B5, so no problem waiting.

Wow, you guys are quick! I've gone ahead and merged the two threads, FuryPilot, hope you don't mind.

I don't have any problem at all waiting. I think it's cool that they let us know before we got too far into the 'second half of August', in fact.

Anybody get wide-eyed when they saw a note from JMS in their mailbox?
