Many people tend toward irreverence and macabre humor when discussing death and dying. It's not necessarily disrespectful, just a way of coping with a subject that makes many people uncomfortable.
I think, though, that if anybody has nice memories or stories of Mr. Sheard to share that that's all that should be posted in this thread from now on please. There's been too much misunderstanding
Thanks,
Jan

I'm rather apalled, the original joke post may have been a tactless slip up of tact. But to say it's ok and because readers of these boards didn't know Mr Sheard personally and that they should lighten up on the thing is really beyond an already bad joke. Imagine if someone on a Dawn of the Dead site had posted a smart alec quip about Richard Biggs? Michael Sheard was a nice guy by all accounts, he came across as such on many BBC inteviews relating to his Grange Hill, Star Wars and Doctor Who work. I've talked to people who met him at Dr Who conventions who confirmed as much. Show a bit of respect.Last edited by Shr'eshhhhhh; 09-15-2005, 05:54 AM.

Ok people,one-two little jokes are fine, but lets not forget that this guy is dead,a bit respect, don't turn this topic into a complete joke.
Feel free to open a new thread for Star Wars quotes.

Hmm, could we turn this into a star wars quotes thread then?
"Lord Vader"
"yes Master?"
"Riiiiiiiiiiiiiseeeeeeeee"

You've failed me for the last time!)

It was the BEST piece of Vaderism from any of the first 3 films.

that was a good line Z.
I didnt remember who he was till I read that he was the guy who was killed by vader . . . not like there isnt enough officers who went through that.
a lot of our beloved Sci-Fi actors are leaving us . . . this is sad indeed.
