As I've been reading the forums these last couple of days, I've noticed Jan "putting on her moderator hat" a couple of times - and now something is bothering me.....

What Exactly DOES a "moderators hat" look like???

Oh dear...I should have known that somebody'd ask eventually...so I'll tell you...but I warn you now that you'll never see a picture. It'd be too humiliating....

If you've read JMS's posts for a while, you may have seen him refer to the "Pointy Hat" ? Well, that's my moderator's hat. Looks sorta like a 'dunce' cap like you see in cartoons. Or those 'princess' hats like you get at Disney. Only purple...and green, of course. But not paisley! I put my foot down there.

Now you see why I hate to wear it?

Ranger 1, what does yours look like? C'mon, we're all friends here....

      Hey

What on earth is wrong with paisley??? Some of my nicest ties are paisley...

Dont worry, I'll never bug you for a photo of you in your moderators hat (well...probably not anyway, tee hee!!... ) - my 6 yr old daughter already has 4 hats the same as you described, except they have a long flowing piece of lace attached to the point, and whenever she wears them she has this uncontrollable urge to run around the house talking about being rescued by her prince

      - at that point I usually morph in to something that looks like a cross between Shrek and Mojo jojo and the chase is on!!

...and to all those out there who consider Mojo jojo a minor league bad guy, you try doing that voice all day long - I've tried (oh the things a daddy'll do for his daughters LOL!!!!!) and it begins to hurt after a while...

And I'm sure they're lovely. But how many are purple AND green? Anyway, it's different in a hat, trust me.

I still haven't decided about the lace or scarf thing...People might look at me funny if I were suddenly possesed by the urge to warble "My prince will coooommmeee". Kinda goes against the image I've tried to build, y'know?

Ah, the doting father. I'm not sure but I think 6 year old daughters were especially designed to invoke fatuous grins and undignified playing in men.

hehe - I have a purple tie with green tree frogs on it from Bermuda - of course the fashion police (ie my wife and kids) at home wont let me wear it but still....

ok - at the risk of incurring your wrath, and having you don that hat at me - whats the image?

Hey - whatever gives me a completely justifiable excuse to shop at Toys R Us for myself!

Ah yes, I have lost count of the times that I have played the pretty, pretty. princess game with my 5 year old daughter. I drew the line at actually putting the jewlery on.

You're lucky - I normally get hounded until I agree to not only wear the earrings and tiara, but also have my hair done with with what feels like 1000 barettes - thankfully theres no photographic evidence, so if you tell anyone else I said that I'll deny it....

Seems like a fair division of labor to me!

Anyway, I think you're nice, too.

Anyway, what color and style is your hat? I humiliated myself...

I figure at least one of you would have a purple moderator's hat. Because you know, you are stunning in purple.

                      Awww...you noticed!

That's why mine's both purple *and* green. In purple I'm stunning but in green, I'm *gorgeous*!

                      ever-so-modestly,

If one moderator wears a purple hat, and the other a green, does that mean everyone else has to moderate the moderators?

Now, SJ, are you saying you think I look like a Drazi??

I think my feelings are hurt...

All Drazi, even if they resemble humans, are beautiful (especially with their fashionably green or purple bonnets ). It must be that je ne sais quoi

I hear worms are good for you - they give you that special glow.

Nice save! A little weak on the logic and we won't even think about taste but...nice save.
