I know that this is sad news, but I saw these two lines on a humor site that are pretty funny (your milage may vary of course):
"Michael Schiavo today announced that the Pope once told him he wouldnÆt want to be kept alive through artificial means."
"The ACLU is filing suit at the Vatican to ensure religious extremists do not get involved. "

I haven't had this on my newsfeeds yet. He's bad off, but I don't think he's dead.

EDIT - Not dead yet anyway. He is fading fast. It will likely be sometime today.Last edited by Radhil; 04-01-2005, 11:36 AM.Radhil Trebors

I'm aware that almost everyone these days has access to 24 hour news channels - but just incase you haven't heard...
It has been confirmed by The Vatican that Pope John Paul II has died at 20:37 BST [time edited].
My wishes go out to everyone who has been touched by the tragic loss of one of our generations finest.
Although I'm not religious myself, I've seen some of the good work that Pope John Paul II did during his reign as the pontiff. May his passing become a sybol to a better and brighter new beginning.
With respects

As they grow up, the words of G'Kar, the plight of Londo, the destiny of Delenn and the sacrifice of Sheridan will take root, and the stories they told will filter through, and one day, that person will create their own show, tell their own story, will fight to preserve their passion against overwhelming odds and change the face of science fiction fandom forever.
