/Ranger1 is waiting for Z'ha'dumDweller to bash it,as usual
I'm cracking my knuckles in preparation.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.
LOL,man its really good, now of course it only a trailer...but come on,what can go wrong?..it can't get any worse the episode 1.
Now, now, now. From where I stand Episode 1 was almost (& would have been) on par with the classic Star Wars, IF, if mind you the following things wheren't in SW:TPM (in order):
1) Jar Jar Binks (no brainer on that one!)
2) The Midichlorians, I thought where a BIG mistake. Although Star Wars is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy, I liked it better when the Sci-Fi parts of Star Wars stayed on "there" side of the fence (like lasers, ships, ect), and the the Fantasy stuff stay on it's side (namely The Force).
Highlander II anyone?
3) The Pod race was just too long (and they made it even longer on the DVD!!)
4) Jake Lloyd was not the best kid actor I've ever heard.
5) I thought Darth Maul was killed off too easily. He just stood there and watched Ob1 jump over him, ignite his lightsabe, and get cut in half.
But the story I'll stand by as being on par with the classic Star Wars.
Sheridan:Well back on Earth we have a saying, "Three's a crowd".
Delenn:On Minbar Three is sacred.
Sheridan:I don't think I'm ready for that!
Don't count on it...you're judging from a trailer after all. And trailers are easily deceivable...just look at AotC.
No matter how good this film might be (or more than likely not), it will always be diminished by the poor story, writing, and especially character development of the first two. Had they been done right, then this film could've paid off much better than it can now, even if it is good.
Personally, GL still wrote and directed, so I'm not expecting anything but two hours (+/-) of wowing FX and pretty pictures and sounds...but I'm really not expecting great indepth and powerful storytelling or characters...and I'm fully expecting more really bad dialogue.
It may end up being "cool" but will still have no substance.
For an example of how this is done correctly (and over three films) watch the LOTR Trilogy.
As for the OT, special FX be damned, they will always be the better trilogy. I don't care about FX as much as I want story and characters I actually give a shit about (and I don't give a shit about the superficial characters in the PT).

It looked cool. I liked the apparent scenes between Anikin and his new trainer - but I couldn't shake the feeling that if that was the best dialogues they showed (and that is what they cull for trailers), it probably is a lot duller than 5-second bits show. (The trailer for EpII, of course, was the awesomest two minutes I'd ever seen, and those two minutes were then appropriately scattered across 2+ hours of a horrendous movie).
So unless I develop the overwhelming urge to look at a lot of Christensen in that new black cloak - which I won't - I'll pass.

To CE you listen. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. This movie is going to suck. One need look no further than the previous prequels. The wizards are great at putting together trailers to highlight the best of the movie. Just don't get too excited, as you will be let down.

Don't think you can yet. They might post it in QuickTime sometime later today or Monday.
Monday. Don't miss 60 Minutes on Sunday night where they will show a lot, too.
