How is everyone liking the more "Contemporary" SF shows like Numb3rs and Medium ??

While some might quibble about calling shows placed in the Here and Now SF, they do fit more or less loosely into the definition:
SF is stories that explore the impact of Science on people and Events.

Numb3rs , IMO, is as much Mathobabble as genuine Math, but it does at least treat Science as a Useful, even Necessary, idea.
That's more than a Lot of shows do.

Medium could be defined as either Science or Fantasy depending on your personal feelings about whether Psychic phenomena will someday yield their secrets to Science or are the province of Religion & the Supernatural.

So, who wants to start the argument?

I, for one, am ticked that they cancelled Odyssey 5 and I have never even seen an ep. I liked the premise so much that I almost ordered a premium channel to watch it. My plan was to wait for DVD's.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

I have not yet watched Medium, and it is the only one of the two that interests me (Numb3rs has the feel of a four episode gimmick from the promos).

I haven't watched it because of bias - I get the impression some suits are trying to riff off the cable success of Dead Zone. I might be off base. I'll eventually give it a shot though. I just don't expect it to impress.

I like Dead Zone and have watched Medium and like it as well. I don't think that Medium is a rip off of Dead Zone at all. The only similarity that could be there is the religion aspect but even then, it is 100 times more overt in Dead Zone.

BTW any idea when season 4 of Dead Zone is starting?

I like Medium so far. I do often find myself wondering how much of each episode is similar to what the real life woman the show's supposedly based off of has gone through.
