The final LOTR: EE box set ... 2 weeks to go!

Thanks to the gift certificate from work, I just preordered the gift set with 5 dvds, Minos Tirith, and more. It should be here on that date, if not earlier ... Thanks, Amazon.

Well, I thought about it a few years ago and I came to the conclusion that it would be more advantageous to wait for a trilogy box set. I was and am in no particular need to see the EE's ASAP, so it works.

I also thought there would be a final edition so I never considered buying the individual pieces of the trilogy, but I was actually waiting for the 20 disc extended trilogy edition with even more bonus materials...
Guess that won't happen, so I should give in and buy the whole trilogy DVD set.

Eagerly looking forward to how the last battle plays out with it's new footage. The Mouth was always a bit I liked, and I hope it's done well.

As for super google-plex omnibus editions.... pleh.

Besides, in a year or two they'll probably release a David-Lynchian edition, where it turns out *we're* the ones living inside the movie. LOTR is all real, I tell you!

So was the mouth of sauron all you hoped for?
Thought it looked and sounded brilliant. Was always a favourite section of the books for me

otherwise - top film and a good excuse to vegitate for 3 1/2 hours.

i am now a very happy chappie as i have all 3 EE and am waiting for some time to be able to watch all 3!!!

must say wouldnt have said no to a bit more of Faramir!!

I agree. Very well done movies. It took me about 6 days to go through all the appendices (since I read the appendices in Return of the King after finishing the story), and then all 3 Extended Editions in one sitting (excluding restroom breaks in between either switching to the second disc, or switching between movies), which took 11 hours to watch through. 6 days for the appendices, 11 hours for the movies. Then I slept for 15 hours straight.

Now I just have to tackle the commentaries for all 3.

Couldn't agree more. Fav bit was the mouth of sauron but it would have been nice being longer.
