  • Yes, I'm back.

Ok, so I've been talked into coming back. What, if anything, have I missed?

Oh, and conventions ... Slanted Fedora conventions, the BEST Trek and general sci fi convention company in the US, went out of business today. That sucks ... and it's also freed up money I was going to use for that, so now I will be going to DragonCon 2005.

CE floored me, handily and gladly - find it about a dozen threads down from the top. The old presidential debate thread. It's long since gone astray.

Other than that, same ol' crazy for me...

I'd try the cons if they all weren't in NYC in this area.... I'm afraid to drive in there. I like my car in one piece.

How did he floor you? Can you linkify it so I don't have to go through a bazillion political posts? Or quote it or something?

And yeah ... DragonCon is something Jan has been trying to get me to go to for 2 years now, and I've always said "maybe next time" ... Well now, without Slanted Fedora (R.I.P.), I'll have to have *something* to get my fix.

So I'll be driving a little over a thousand miles to get to this con ... Fun, fun!

Sorry to hear about SF but really glad to hear about DragonCon! Wanna be a minion for Amy and I in our Dr. Zathras Traveling Medicine Show Babylon 5 sub-track? We had two panels and the highly successful Babylon 5 Social which was attended by all of the B5 guests for at least a little while and for the entire evening by Jason Carter.

I'll let you know where to send your application and 'fee'

This will be the first time I'll ge going to a gigantic con like this ... I don't know yet. I know I'm going, but considering that I just made that decision about 3.5 hours ago, I dunno what stuff I'll be doing there. Other than getting tons of autographs.

I'll start saving right after the Mira convention in Feb.

                It was... enlightening.

(and stop that... yeesh.... not that kind of floor )

I tried to PM you and the system barfed on me. Clean out your inbox or something.

Oh, and my brain has been absent lately, as I said the wrong thread completely. It's the one that's up near top now, the irresponsible one.

Radhil, are you near an Amtrak stop? If you are from Boston to Washington DC it's a nice trip. I just went down to Baltimore on business last week and it's a real car saver. Also driving in NYC is not that bad.

On the selfish side I would love to get together with some of the members on this board.

I'd have to check. I think there's an Amtrak across the Hudson from me.

I have once driven down to Maryland to see my sister, who lived maybe 10 minutes out of Baltimore. That drive forced me to reconsider that every ridiculous 80s movie ever made might actually be true.

I actually shouldn't be afraid of NYC - I've survived Jersey already.

                      EDIT -
                      Radhill,
                      *sigh* I'll just never win...

                          Radhil,

Sorry about that old chap. I didn't realize that it was only one L. I have edited the offending message.
