  • R.I.P. Stan Lee

For many this news will be of sincere sadness considering the many contributions that Stan Lee has done over the years.

    Thanks Stan.

Stan Lee, the creative dynamo who revolutionized the comic book and helped make billions for Hollywood by introducing human frailties in superheroes such as Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and the Incredible Hulk, died Monday.

Saw this news just a bit ago while I was at lunch. He seemed like a genuinely nice man the times I saw him at conventions.

I've got "Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible" illustrated by Colleen Doran at home. Will have to pull it out tonight.

It's a sad loss for sure. His legacy is massively problematic in terms of what he did and didn't create, but there's no denying he was pivotal in creating to some of the greatest comics ever made.
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

      Kosh: Good!

The story of Stan Lee is such a confusing one, from his creation legacy to whatever was happening with his estate in recent years, but one thing is for certain: he was ridiculously nice and welcoming to probably every fan he ever encountered, and he was a wonderful ambassador for all things comic. He'll be missed.

Here's a nice montage of his cameos. In the Thor one, you can see JMS, too.

I woke up the the news.

            He was a living legend.

            He is still a legend.
