  • Patrick Stewart tweet

There were rumors about some new ST-series and now Patrick Stewart is announcing that he is pleased to reprise his role as Jean-Luc Picard.

ArsTechnica as one of the sources:

    Patrick Stewart tweet (08-02):
"It is an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him."

Would be nice to see Patrick Stewart reprising his famous role.

What a time to be alive!

I'm pretty excited tbh. I can see it working.Would be kinda cool to see a Trek show that extends the Trek timeline instead of rewinding it. I could totally go for a story of the week kinda show again with some kind of arc. It would be nice to see something with a less 'high stakes / galaxy is going to end' approach, that perhaps has a bit more fun to it and just tells good stories.

Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

    Kosh: Good!

I too WOULD be very excited about this if it weren't for the fact that they are putting it on CBS All Access. I refuse to pay for that subscription service because I continue to fight against the inevitable. If someone wants me to start paying for another subscription service then they need to get in touch with JMS and WB for some new Babylon 5 stuff.

In this day and age, does it really matter? It'll be on Netflix too, just like Discovery. Or, any number of the hundreds of free TV streaming sites, which I in no way endorse, and it's totally not where I watched DISCO.

Star Trek Discovery is not on my Netflix. Nor is it on my Hulu. And I can watch it through Amazon Prime . . . if I have a CBS All Access account. LOL

            Oh man, that's not great.

What you could do is use a VPN to change your location to Europe and that would give you access to Netflix European content, like Discovery and the new ST shows.

              Captain Picard: Tomb Hunter?

IIRC the show toyed with that for an episode or two, and I had hopes it would be a major story arc, hunting down alien antiquities so as to solve a major puzzle.

B5 had its Interplanetary Expeditions, and Crusade sort of had a Tomb Hunter in space vibe at times. I think having Picard setting off in a smallish ship, with just a partner or two, or three or four, could work very well.

Give him Jodelle Ferland, Melissa O'Neil, or Zoie Palmer, from Dark Matter, and the show would have those fans more likely to bond to it.
