On that score we are in total agreement. I know it is all rumour at the moment but it seems that our Mr. Routh has signed for 3 films, two of which will be (probably) SUPERMAN films and a third which may be a SUPERMAN/BATMAN cross-over. Now that would be something! This comes from superman-v.com. Fine site if you haven't seen it.

As for the 'jealous much' comment in my post - I would LOVE to work in your line, it must be so exciting so, jealous is exatly what I am!!!! Don't need an apprentice here in the UK do you?

On a more personal note Anthony, I am gald we have been able to talk this out as reasonable adults. Much better that way! I really don't like annoying anybody, it goes against my lovable nature.

He played that part to the T and had the look to make SM seem real.

He was impressive after his accident with all the things he did for spinal injuries..

As soon as I have the funding to shoot a film there, you're the guy I'll turn to.

Granted, that could be a long, long time from now, or...well...never. Just depends. Success in the film biz is completely random and an act of pure luck and timing.

        Could never happen...could happen tomorrow.

Until then, onward and upward, and keep making the films I can make...which I would be more than happy to share with you once they're completed.

The latest one will be completed by March of 2005. I will be available from me on DVD a few months after.

Now that Messrs Reeve, and Brando are sadly gone. Is it more or less likely that a special edition of Superman II could be made? With a John Williams score, Some special effects tinkering, a general clean up and sound re-design and the re-instatement of Mr Brando's Scenes the film could be re-issued and serve as a lasting tribute to both of them. It would mean Richard's Lester and Donner would have to colaberate and finally get the more accurate double director's credit. But seeing what was done for both the Superman1 and Star Trek: the slow Motion Picture restorations, I'm sure the end result would be worth the effort and serve as publicity for the new film.
I have the wings for Bingo.

Yeah, yeah, you know what I meant.

                Shr'eshhhhhh,

It would be a great idea, but unfortunately, I doubt it would happen. It took Robert Wise approaching Paramount and offering to pay for the restoration before they even considered it.

And considering what Donner went through with those now ex Hollywood producers the Salkinds, I don't know that he would want to revisit the material, especially since he didn't direct most of it. Lester has little power in Hollywood and most likely wouldn't be capable of convincing the studio to deal with the mess and contractual obligations it would incur.

And just because an actor is dead, doesn't mean the studio can just use their image if they feel like it. Most of the time they still have to deal with the family and estate for rights, which involves a great deal of contractual crap.

In short, great idea but don't hold your breath.

Old joke in the music business, when a pop singer dies people say it is a good carear move. When Stanley Kubrick died the UK Babylon 5 VHS cassettes carried adverts about a season of his films on VHS.

I thought Superman 2 was mostly a Richard Donner film. And that Richard Lester had been brought in to finish it and re-film the Brando scenes with Susannah York when he asked for more money. I also thought the changes were largely unpopular with the cast as was the change of Director. Naturally the estates of the late actors would have to be paid, if their contracts require it. I assume the Brando estate required more money for the longer screen time in the restored version of Superman the movie. Sure it would proberbly not happen, I'm equally, if not more keen on seeing a restored version of Legion (Exorcist 3) and that has simular problems (George C scott and Jason Miller dead and to restore it properly would require removing respected actor Nichol Williamson's performance from the film.) Apparently Morgon Creek are seriously thinking of doing it, One assumes to atone for the 'unholy' Exorcist prequel fiasco. Point being if they can do it maybe Superman 2: redux may still happen.
BTW, asking a methane breather not to hold it's breath is rich irony seeing as most people hold their breath in the presence of that gas.

Well, the first pictures of Brandon Routh have been posted in his SUPEMAN costume. Looks a bit odd because there are some differences with the 'classic' SM look, but I am prepared to give it a go.

Saw it on another forum that I frequent. To say that that suit looks gay would be an understatement. CE and Omaha, is that the kind of thing you guys wear to bed?

                          To sleep, I mean...
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.
