  • Star Trek License Plate Deemed Offensive

    Hello All,

This was on the news here this morning and my first thoughts were, you've got to be kidding. What are the thoughts of everyone here?

Manitoba’s public insurance company has revoked a Star Trek inspired custom licence plate after receiving complaints that it’s offensive to indigenous people. Nick Troller’s two-year-old plate reads “ASIMIL8.”

Seems pretty crazy to me. That actually seems to the the slogan for most societies that have an organized license plating system for motor vehicles. Isn't a license plate trying to get you to do exactly what that one says?!

I just thought that I would post an update on this case.

The man who had the Star Trek themed license plate has just lost his court battle to keep the plate.

Please let us tell Mr. Troll -err- Troller to go for a better plate:

        "BABYLON5"
        with the plate border:
"Our last, best hope for peace"

        100% NOT offending.
