I watched the Superman dvd extras last night.
Richard Donner said "He made me believe a man could fly. He also made me believe he would walk again." Sadly Mr Reeve never achieved that goal but he did give hope to all those suffering in the way that he and his family and friends did.
The best memorial we can leave for him is to press for Stem Cell research.

    Another one...thought not B5 related

I know this really doesnt belong on this board, but Christopher Reeve died over the weekend and I know he isnt from the B5 universe but he was Superman! Besides that he also did a lot for spinal cord research as well as guest starring on the WBs Smallvillr, which by the way was uber-cool. So like i said i know this isnt B5 related but it just sux...

<<I really wish there was some form of afterlife (I'm an atheist).>>

Maybe that's why a lot of people have beliefs...maybe they hope for something better, something higher in the afterlife. Faith manages. And our memories of Reeve will endure.

Goddamn, it really does get depressing when you hear about all these people dying. Every. Single. Day.

I really wish there was some form of afterlife (I'm an atheist). It really is sad that all these people are just gone forever, never to exist again.

    Man, this sucks : (

    Couldn't believe it!

As I regained my senses this morning, with (as usual) the sound of the BBC Radio 4 news at 7.00am, I was instantly and horribly wide awake on hearing this terrible news.

What a sad loss to the world Christopher Reeve will prove to be. We ARE deminished, the world is LESS interesting without him in it.

I am just waching him on NEWS24 now that I am back from work and he was such a witty and articulate speaker. Watching John Kerry talking about Chris during a speech just 2 days ago!

I remember seeing Superman in the late 70s and being very pleased with it. It was (and still is?) at that time, probably the best superhero adaptation ever. When I bought the DVD, I saw the test footage of his. He was bone-thin where the only thing bulging was his Adam's apple, the costume was just makeshift, not only was his hair totally the wrong colour but they'd darkened it with what looked like boot polish - which with the heat of studio lights was melting and running down his neck and
back, and yet, with all that, he WAS Superman. Totally credible. That didn't just prove that he was the right choice for Superman, it showed that he was a superb actor too!

Gone too soon but never forgotten, I hope that the new movie is dedicated to you Chris.

    Rest in peace.

I was so very upset to hear about the loss of this fine man. As a child and I will give my age away here he was my hero. I loved Superman and Chris was certainly truely a real Superman even after his accident. All those things he did. Suffer no man and may you walk finally with God.

Really sorry to hear that. He fought so hard, I was sure that one day we'd hear he was walking again.
