    Shouldn't that be:
Please don't be Thor about my bat joke.

    = = =

Inflicting filk, puns and bad jokes upon unsuspecting Babylon 5 fans since February 22, 1993.

    Filk warning: [1]

Early to rise, early to bed.
In and between I fought and battled and went out of my head.
Going through life with blinders on, it's tough to see.
I had to get up, get out from under and look for me.
There's a new Thor in town and she's looking good.
There's a fresh freckled face, in the neighborhood.
There's a new Thor in town, with a brand new style.
She was just passing through, but if things work out she's gonna stay awhile....

Used to be sad, used to be shy
Funniest thing, the saddest part is I never knew why...
Kickin' myself for nothin' was my favorite sport
I had to get out and start enjoyin' 'cause life's too short
There's a new Thor in town, 'cause I'm feelin' good.
Get a smile, get a song, for the neighborhood
There's a new Thor in town on her own two feet
And this Thor's here to say with some luck and love life's gonna be so sweet.

    = = =

    Notes:
    1. Based on theme song from the television series, Alice.

Besides, I remember when Thor was a frog. That didn't make the "news" and this is much less interesting than that.
Thor will be left handed in the next film. It's going to really turn heads. Never been done before.

I think it's funny watching so many people go off on how 'wrong' it is while trying not to sound sexist. Granted, my exposure to Thor is limited but I can't see any reason why it shouldn't happen *except* that it appears that the original will still be existing in some fashion.

Fave reaction so far: Headline: Thor to become female! Loki: Copycat.

Heh! Agreed Jan. There's no real issue with the switch, but it just seems cheap to me. In a few months the big reset button will get pushed, and Thor will be male again.

I wish they were pushing female characters based on their own merits, instead of gimmicks like this… 'look THOR is FEMALE'… OMG! I mean, case in point, Bendis' 'Alias' was an awesome series. Jessica Jones was a brilliant female lead. They should be pushing stuff like that, or doing more with those characters. Or, INVENT NEW female characters.

Don’t even get me started on DCs treatment of the Rucka / JH Williams Batwoman run!

I'm all for diversity in comics, but this smacks of ‘cheap Marvel gimmick’, short of killing off the character and bringing him/her back. Pretty weak and transparent that they just want to increase sales. If they really want to appeal to female readers, how about more strong female characters in the Marvel U?

    Cue internet fanboy rampage... 3... 2... 1...
