  • I can't believe I'm back on Mars...

I love these crank articles... ex-marine claims to have served at a secret Mars moonbase!

Wonder if he got there the same way John Carter did and whether there were banths there as part of those indigenous species.

It was a bit trashy, but I enjoyed John Carter. Could have been a fun franchise if Disney hadn't given up on it, and it wasn’t so set upon by critics and the press. I’ve seen far worse films do well at the box office.

I really don't care for Taylor Kitsch, so that tainted the movie for me. Had he not been the lead I would have loved that movie. I think it is greatly underrated. I wouldn't say it is a classic, but it definitely deserves better than it got.

And as far as the subject of this thread goes, that is the only way I travel to Mars. There really isn't a viable way to travel there by ship, I mean it is super expensive just to get into space. Like the movie, the toughest part is finding a safe place to leave my body. You wouldn't believe what people will do to your body if you leave it where they can get to it. Even if you tell them you are putting all your trust in them they still can't resist the temptation. I'd give you some key words to search YouTube for, but I am too embarrassed.

When traveling to Malacandra from my current location ^, I prefer to use the sphere. But I don't understand how it works, it's just my job 5 days a week, I wouldn't want my family to live there.

As for John Carter. I again agree with Looney. No Kitsch, not have Carter be such a self absorbed ass to start with, the rest was really pretty good. I didn't have any complaints otherwise.
"And what kind of head of Security would I be if I let people like me know things that I'm not supposed to know? I mean, I know what I know because I have to know it. And if I don't have to know it, I don't tell me, and I don't let anyone else tell me either. " And I can give you reasonable assurances that the head of Security will not report you for doing so."
"Because you won't tell yourself about it?"

"I try never to get involved in my own life, too much trouble."
