Thanks for those links to the summaries...great reads, and one can discern certain storytelling characteristics later carried over to B5 shaded there.

Might've been very interesting, particularly the resumption of the subplot involving the radio transmission to the Visitors' enemies in the original mini-series.

    That link is much appreciated.

With that as a starting point I found some sites with a synopsis of the whole JMS script.
If this had a snowball's in chance of being produced I'd put a big SPOILER warning.

(This one also has comments on some other unfilmed scripts, including a draft script for V:The Final Battle, and the unfilmed 20th episode of the V: The Series. NB: that site also loads very slowly and seems to make some non MSFT browsers unhappy)

And if you can read French:

Interesting note: those synopses mention a female alien called Lorien...
Makes me wonder if B5's Lorien was actually a male.

A portion of JMS's V: Rebirth script online:

...And note that San Diego gets nuked in THIS screenplay, too...

I've got V the mini series and V the final battle on DVD. But does anyone know when the last installment (I think its called V the complete series) will be released ?

I think its out on region 1 but I've been waiting ages for region 2.

I think I saw news recently saying that the new V project was dead. The concept was just not fresh enough now or somthing like that.

The return of V is not a rumor, but it's old news:

It was announced last year, I learned it from SciFiWire, as in the link above, the press release was posted at some V fan sites (I googled it, here's one link): http://www.mindpulse.com/users/lizlady/pressrelease.htm
The owner of that fan site has posted some communications she's received from the original V producer, Ken Johnson, who will again produce and write V: The Second Generation.

I don't think JMS will be involved, the miniseries is still in development, and any series that might result from it is very speculative.

I hadn't heard any recent news, so thanks for the update, it's not an official announcement, but it gives hope that the project is finally moving.

The only way I could envision JMS participating would be as co-executive producer, unless NBC/WB wanted a full re-write of the existing script.

I didn't know JMS wrote any V script, anyone has a link with more details?

    V Miniseries?

    Hi Guys!

First of all: Yes, I know, wrong forum, but I kinda had the feeling that this rumor might be of some interest for SF & JMS-Fans, and I just thought that it may not get the recognition in the "General Discussion"-Forum than it deserves - if this rumor (and my interpretation of it) become true.

Everybody that followed the messages on the newsgroup knows that JMS has written a script for a V-miniseries more than a century ago - it always seemed like something he wanted to do, but somehow, it never happened.

I just found this rumor on a site that I find very interesting - especially since JMS told us that he would be heavily involved with some new TV-projects:
Next up Englund's going to be doing double-duty on a new horror pic and a new mini-series reincarnation of "V", the old series he use to appear in. He seems genuinely excited about it, and I believe they're all rooting that it gets the greenlight to be a later series.
    Source: http://www.creature-corner.com/?type=news&id=92

Now before everybody gets excited and starts to blame me if things shouldn't turn out that way as many of us sure do hope after that message, let me once again point out that this is a rumor. Furthermore, it may well be possible that there indeed is a new V-Miniseries in the works, but that JMS has NOTHING to do with it. I just thought it interesting and wanted to know what you folks hope/think, and who knows, maybe someone can shed some light wether or not that rumor is true.

I also want to point out that I don't remember JMS' recent posts in full detail - it is possible that he already was asked about a possible involvement with a V-Miniseries and he may have debunked that idea. If so, please tell me and if you wish - close the thread. Finally, a short message to our Mods: If you should not agree with this thread being in the B5-Forum, feel free to move it to another Forum. But since it was THIS forum where most of the JMS speculation took place, it seemed to be ok for me to post it over here...
