    Who?
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

Thank for the link Bondhead...some new ones up since last I was there. I personally cannot wait for the new series and keep wondering when they are going to announce it's US premier date.

If you hear anything let us know, would you?

Supposedly Sci-Fi Channel is bidding for it, but I don't think that's been confirmed.

All I can say is that the last story will features Daleks!

I'm curious as to how the new Daleks will look. I know they had some harsh negotiations with the estate of Terry Nation over the use of the Daleks. Reports I read stated that Davies wanted to modernize and update the Daleks for the new Who. I can only imagine that this was one of the sticky points in the negotiations, so I don't know if they actually got permission to alter them.

I hope they did...I would really like to see a newer more vicious Dalek created with today's knowledge while remaining true to the Dalek character.

Numerous, first when the Goa'uld agreed to sit down and negotiate...I think that was Season 3. More recently in S7, someone was about to make a Hu jokeand Daniel said "Don't. Just Don't. It's played out" or some such.

Well, I'm not sure I like the sound of it :

The BBC may have shelled out a whopping ú250,000 for the right to use The Daleks in the new series of Dr Who - but the metal monsters only pop up in one episode.

And when the big moment comes, in the eighth instalment, there's only one of them. It turns out he's a bit of an antique who has survived on a space station where he is killing off the crew one by one.

And gasp, that's the only time we'll clap eyes on the old-style daleks.

When they next appear, in the 13th and final episode, their shuttlecock shapes have been redesigned for the 21st century. Our sci-fi snoop revealed 'They have evolved into terrifying things that look a bit like spiders'. Eek.
                        Also :

Could it be that Doctor Who is returning with the Daleks... but without the famous catchphrase, "Exterminate!" In an article in today's "The Sun," it is noted that "BBC chiefs have deemed the aliensÆ catchphrase too cheesy for modern audiences. A Beeb insider confirmed last night: 'Doctor Who fans may be upset. But although the word may have scared kiddies in 1963, today it would be laughed off screen.' The source said: 'The Daleks have said æexterminateÆ for more than 40 years but it never did them any good. The Doctor always won in the end.'" Of course, the Sun also claims that the Daleks returned only after their 'campaign' to bring the monsters back to the show; meanwhile, quoted elsewhere, Tim Hancock, agent for the estate of Daleks creator Terry Nation, says, "There are three scripts in the new series of Doctor Who that will feature the Daleks.ö However, the BBC won't confirm the number of episodes they appear in.
It never ceases to amaze me that in all these new sci-fi remakes, from Battlestar Galctica, to the attempted Blake's 7 revival, they always seem to want to change the best bits !!

As long as they continue to accept what is history for the Daleks and not ignore threads and continuity like Trek has done (which it appears they're doing with this the old-style Dalek terrorizing a base), then I'm ok with alterations. As long as they make them in such a way that you still believe they're Daleks, that the audience goes something like, "cool, what a great way to do that!", and you keep the spirit of the race alive and not change it to the point where it might just as well be something new.

They are right about the "exterminate" thing...though I still think they should say it from time to time, just not repeatedly as they have in the past.

Remember, Davros got away the last time the Dr. faced the Daleks, which was when he was caught between the original Daleks and Davros' new Emperial Daleks. (Not a great episode altogether, but then, I have never been extremely fond of McCoy's doctor -- not because of McCoy but because of the terrible writing that took place under his reign.)

So...given that Davros got away, the old Daleks were destroyed and from what we knew all of the Emperial Daleks were as well, then it stands to reason (if they do this right and by continuity -- this is how they'll do it), that Davros will return once more and introduce his newest evil Dalek menace! Given that they're spiderlike...I guess they could be the Mark X, Arachnid model.

Yes I totally agree. However, would I spend ú250,000 to use a Dalek just once ? They could easily have just called the new Daleks, Spider creatures or something. Just feals like after all that negotiating and money spent, they could use the old Daleks a bit more.

Somewhat agree. IMHO the Daleks were never scary, just cool. This was their recognisable 'catch phrase'. It still should be used occasionally. After all, "Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated" still works for the Borg. I dont think "Exterminate" would be 'Laughed off screen' as they put it.

As for Davros, who knows ? Would be interesting if he did make an appearance. Also I dont think all the original Daleks were destroyed. The few that came to Earth in search of the renegades in that episode were destroyed, but remember they had a huge battlefleet and armies on various worlds. Not to mention they had developed time travel, and were able to self replecate.

Davros' Imperial Daleks, on the other hand, were small in numbers, and most likely, the majority of them were on that mothership when it blew up in that Episode. Of course Davros did indeed escape and could begin constructing a new breed of Dalek.

It's just so exciting to be having these kind of discusions again after all these years. Cant wait for the series now. Getting excited

Dr Who has already done the killer spiders from mars. The fans reaction - we want Daleks. Take the warning.

(How frightening did you find the search spiders in Minority report? Adding a few legs will not make much difference.)

If you want Daleks to climb stairs give them caterpillar tracks. Tanks can climb stairs.

As for "Exterminate" being cheesy, most catch phrases are cheesy. The artist still has to say it.
