  • The Tomorrow People (spoilers)

So the recent discussions in and around MArvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. got me thinking of a show I have recently (this week) been watching a fair few episodes of, i.e. the US remake of the old british sci fi classic "the tomorrow people".

I have to say, this is what happens when a show is done well, I engaged with the characters and setting straight away (allowing for people in their early twenties playing teens, a minor gripe but I am enjoying it immensley. Stand out in this show is MArk Pellengrino (Lucipher in season 5 of supernatural) as Dr Jedekiah. He plays a wonderfully charming bad guy and I'd watch the show for him alone. I can do an episode by episode analysis if ye like as 12 episodes have been shown to date.

I would rate this up there with arrow, which I also enjoy greately but would be interested to see what you lot thought of it.

"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

Not seen this yet. Will have to investigate. In fact, I don't believe I’ve seen the original, so perhaps I should start there?
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

    Kosh: Good!

The original was great ... but it was a kids' show, which the new one isn't. As long as you watch them both with that distinction in mind, you will be fine.

As far as the current remake goes, I have to say that the only interesting character to me, so far, is Jedekiah, the Tomorrow People themselves are still a little too one-dimensional. It is alwasy nice to see Nina Myers back on our screens though.

I watched the Pilot and to me it was just "Shield" from the POV of the people being hunted, without the humor. It was okay, but nothing I care if I ever see again.

Though IMO The 4400 topped both shows many times over.

I watched the trailer, it looked like freaking Dawson's Creek.

          Not for me!

            Bwahahahahahahahahahah

The CW has that effect with all their pretty twenty something's actors .
The UK original from the 1970s was soooo much better.

Ironically I quite enjoyed the star crossed pilot. Looks like it could be a good story .
