  • Random Fun: Guess Who . . . ????

I would like to know if anyone can guess who is in my Avatar? I think I am going to change it, but first I would like to see if anyone knows who it is.

    HINTS:

    1. Famous person from the world of moving pictures and the small screen.
    2. Should be somewhat known throughout the world.
    3. Never a big star, but his fame has been around a long time.

I will post another hint if anyone shows enough interest in the thread to ask for it. (I can't believe not one person had anything to say after I posted that it was the 20TH Anniversary of the premier of The X-Files last week!) LOL

I always thought it was Jack Klugman.

That is an EXCELLENT guess Dave, but incorrect. This person died of a heart attack, prior to 1970, when they were only 60, unlike Jack who passed away just last year at 90. Thanks for showing interest. Here are some more hints besides the one I just let out of the bag.

      1. His real name was Samuel, but he went by a stage name.
      2. He was from a family of entertainers.
      3. Happened to die while doing something he feared.

I know these aren't the best hints, but in this day and age when it is so easy to look things up on the internet I don't want to be too specific.

And since Dave is the only person to show any interest, so far, I'll give the answer if he asks for it or I'll post it in a few days if he doesn't.

And please chime in if you like. I'll give more hints if anyone wants them.

Tough one; Looks familiar, but I could never place the face. Character actor? Been on The Twilight Zone?

No to both. Another hint: Not related to science fiction, drama, or horror in any way.

I've discovered the avatar feature is not working today.

I'll try changing mine again later.

I guess you missed the "prior to 1970" part of of that quote. Okay, now I'll just make it easy.

                1. He was famously phobic.
                2. His youngest brother tragically died three years before him.
                3. Had a semi-successful solo career for the time, but is best known for working with an act.
                4. He worked with two of his brothers, Jerry and Moses, but there is only one brief example of him working Jerry.
                5. Had a stage last name, Howard.

No, I didn't miss the "prior to 1970", but I was at a loss as to the identity of the person. Any of your last five clues would have led me to the correct answer.

Samuel (Shemp Howard) Horwitz is correct. Now I am going to change it. This next one will have the person's entire face.

I am only now starting to appreciate The Three Stooges for what they were, champions of silly innocent humour from a forgotten age, that anyone can enjoy without having to worry if their granny will enjoy it....

So true, So true . . . . Now who can tell me why I can't upload a new Avatar? Size is correct, but every time I try it says "Upload of file failed".

That also describes "The Munsters" which I'm watching now (Season 1 DVD set).

If you enjoy the original "The Munsters", you may also enjoy the original "Car 54, Where Are You?" Both shows have Fred Gwynne and Al Lewis.
