I watch a lot of movies. I thought rather than starting threads for everything movies we want to mention on this site why not just start an Off-Topic thread for everything movies that doesn't deserve its own thread. LOL Maybe there is already a thread like this, but I didn't find it. So here is a bit of news to start.

Harrison Ford cast in Expendables 3. LOL I can't wait.

Also, I just watched Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983). I really enjoyed most of the movie, but it seems like there are gaps in the plot. I am sure it was cut for time and suffered for it.

I just can't see Harrison Ford in "Expendables 3" ("Red 3" might be a better fit.), and I'm VERY SORRY that Bruce Willis won't be in "Expendables 3." Don't get me wrong; I like both Ford and Willis. I just think that Harrison Ford is too old to be in an Expendables movie.

OMG! You are so right about that. That is a perfect fit for him, but I wouldn't mind seeing him in both. I am a little disappointed Willis isn't going to be in it. Apparently every other big older star is going to be it. I was disappointed in the second film, but I have been really excited about 3 since Jackie Chan finally agreed to do it.

I'm probably on the minority in widely prefering the second one. I didn't mind all those references and in-jokes, and thought that the action was WAY better executed. "Expendables 2" seemed to breath the spirit of the movies it alluded to; while the first one was just your typical modern "I can't see a thing because of all those zooms, cuts and quick edits"-action-crapfest, only with older dudes.

Looking forward to the third one, and very excited about Harrison Ford. Don't really mind Willis dropping out, we already had "the big three" in "Expendables 2", and recently he doesn't really seem to give a sh*t anymore anyway. God, was his last "Die Hard" awful.

I watched it about a month ago. I regret doing that so much. LOL The sad part about that pile of garbage is that if they hadn't made it a Die Hard flick and attached it to him and his family there might have been a foundation for a decent action movie there. Take him, his son, and everything that happens with them out; plug in a different hero with a better script and then that plot might have been something worth watching.

And my main problem with Expendables 2 was the fact that Jet Li made what amounted to a cameo and some of the one-liners toward the end just felt way too forced.

I watched it about a month ago. I regret doing that so much. LOL The sad part about that pile of garbage is that if they hadn't made it a Die Hard flick and attached it to him and his family there might have been a foundation for a decent action movie there. Take him, his son, and everything that happens with them out; plug in a different hero with a better script and then that plot might have been something worth watching.

I liked Expendables, but liked Expendables 2 more, because Arnie and Bruce had bigger parts in 2.

You guys are making me sorry that I bought the latest Die Hard movie. Haven't watched it yet. I'm a fan of the Die Hard movies and of most Bruce Willis movies (e.g. The Last Boy Scout). These movies they're making today are my kind of movies, i.e. the Expendables and RED franchises, and Jason Statham movies. I like the mix of action and comedy (wisecracks and in-jokes).

This is not a Die Hard movie. I didn't care for Live Free or Die Hard, but this movie makes it look like Citizen Kane. The great thing about Die Hard movies isn't just the action. The only thing worth watching in this movie is the action. Since you purchased it I hope you enjoy it, but if it is still sealed I think I would try to get my money back.

And I just read a headline that said Stallone said Willis got greedy. Oooooooooooooooooo ! ! ! ! !

So here are a couple of flicks I saw this weekend.

Elysium - I wanted this movie to be great. I was disappointed, but it was alright and I recommend it. I really wish the camera hadn't moved around at all and I think some of it looked way too much like District 9 and Halo.

Hell Baby - Hmmmmmmm...... I really love the people involved with this project, Robert Ben Garant and company, but I can't say I loved this movie. I liked it alright, but didn't love it. It is raunchy and gross, but it does have a lot of funny moments. But you really, really, really have to not mind the gross stuff.

Here are a few things I have watched since Saturday. I think it is pretty obvious which ones I recommend and I would love to hear any thoughts.

We’re The Millers (2013) – I thought it was okay, not great. The strange thing about this movie is that Jason Sudeikis really doesn’t bring anything unique to the table. I like him, but I definitely feel like you could have taken him out and plugged just about any other actor into the role.

Oz The Great and Powerful (2013) – This movie had some really good stuff in it, but on the whole I found it to be underwhelming.

Hot Fuzz (2007) – I love this movie. I enjoy it more every time I see it. I think I like it more than Shaun of The Dead.

The Sasquatch Gang (2006) – This is a strange movie, but an entertaining one. Some of the folks who worked on Napoleon Dynamite (2004) made this movie and the quirkiness definitely shows. It isn’t quite in the same vein as Dynamite, but it still is lovably odd. Justin Long, Joey Kern, and Hubbel Palmer are absolutely priceless. I wouldn’t say that everyone is going to love this movie, but I think there are some universally hilarious moments that will probably make viewers chuckle.

Robot Wars (1993) – Ugggggh . . . . I am not going to lie; I usually love movies like this. Unfortunately Don Michael Paul’s performance in this movie makes me cringe. Every time he came on the screen I wanted to shut it off. Every time he opened his mouth I wanted to cover my ears. I am sure he is a perfectly nice person, but I couldn’t stand him in this movie. There are other aspects I don't like, but there are a few things that are okay. Paul is what really ruins this one for me.

Crash & Burn (1990) – Not a terrible movie. The weirdest part of the movie is that Charles Band and Company involved a giant robot in this plot. The giant robot aspects of the film are completely pointless. The giant robot does next to nothing. The only obvious purposes for having a giant robot in this movie are that they could put a giant robot on the cover and the title Crash & Burn can be tied to a slogan from Robot Jox (1989). I know Band produced Robot Jox, but I have no idea why he would want this movie associated with it. He was obviously thinking about marketing, but what a waste of effort to put in giant robot special effects for what amounted to something so pointless. Of course, we are talking about a very predictable low budget science fiction film that has all kinds of problems, but I found it somewhat entertaining and . . .puzzling.

Monster High (1989) – Weird movie. I kept watching and I don’t know why.

The Burbs (1989) - I love this movie so much and I always have, "About a nine on the old tension scale there Rube."

I was disappointed by Elysium. It was OK, but wasted most of its potential.

We're The Millers, which we saw in sneak preview (i.e. not on purpose), was surprisingly funny. Not brilliant, but a lot better than I expected it would be. Some groanworthy moments, but all in all... I smiled a lot.

The Burbs (1989) - I love this movie so much and I always have, "About a nine on the old tension scale there Rube."

Loved The Burbs too.

The '81 movie 'Neighbors' with John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd is another classic.

...and can't forget 'Raising Arizona'
