It appears that this week's ep of Castle will GalaxyQuest Firefly:

The show's been really great this year! Can't wait for tonight's episode!

I have to disagree with you, sweetie. I'm sorry, but I'd have to correct it to:

"The show's been really great, every episode since the pilot. Can't wait for tonight's episode!"

Well, I'll grant that it's one of my very few 'appointment' TV shows but not every episode has been great. Watchable, certainly, though.

I like Castle, but it's one of those shows I always forget to watch anyway. Maybe cause it's on so late? But then again Revolution and Once Upon a Time are the only current tv shows I manage to keep up with, and I don't really even like either of them. "giggles"

Will have to search for this castle eppy on hulu, methinks.

          watched and it twas awesome!!!!!!

Made me want to watch Nebula nine LOL and also miss Firefly.

I loved Becket's speech about why she loved Nebula nine, and how she was a fan of the character of Commander Chloe and not the actress. Defly one of my fav Castle eppies.

            "sweetie"? :snicker:
My brain almost simultaneously image morphed your avatar with River Song and BBT's Penny.

What did you feel was wrong with the pilot?
It recently hit syndication, and I watched the first season, so it's fresh in my mind.

The thing that most grabbed me was the relationship between Castle and his daughter. I particularly like how they grew that into the likeable (to me) gimmick of a conversation between them suddenly gelling a solution to the episode's mystery.

This really is a perfect vehicle for Nathan. He gets to be both fun and serious.

A lot of eps have been "meh", however even those are a nice wind down to get a good night's sleep. The networks usually put their "more adult" stuff (i.e. nightmare fuelling) in the last primetime slot, so Castle is a nice contrast. IMO.

Virtual fist bumps at yas, Jan & Delenn_of_Mir!

D, you nailed it for that ep!
I was completely immersed from the moment that Nathan said "shiny", but the scene you mention was my favorite. The look of total admiration & respect on Castle's face while Beckett was explaining, pumped up the specialness, and drove away my concerns that their relationship might fizzle. Great relationships are built on mutual respect. I didn't like how last season's final ep very clumsily (IMO) jumped them into bed, but after this ep, I've forgiven that clumsy writing.

            Reminder:
December 9 is the 9th anniversary of the DVD release of Firefly (crewed by 9 BDHs - 9-9-9!).
That weekend's a good time/excuse for a Big Dang Marathon.
