Statues of angles that can kill you if you aren't looking, aliens you can't remember as soon as you look away, that scene with Amy in the orphanage was one of the spookiest I've ever seen in Any show or movie. Amy(who is fake) is worried about the real Doctor finding out about his death but tells the fake Doctor (who's actually real). I love the way Moffet actually uses time travel in the story. The Tardis used to be just at the begining to put them there and then just stayed or had to be found, that still happens but not every time. I really liked when the Doctor said he'd be back for Amy in 5 minutes and it she's grown up by the time he's back.
    As I said, YMMV

The saddest thing for me is that the kids have lost interest, and it is going to take something special to win them back, but such is life.

... I didn't dislike Rose but I don't feel as positive about her as the others. (especally when she showed up in Turn Left, did she just have oral surgery, I couldn't understand her) ...
As I understand it, I think it was the voice coaching she had received for her part as Belle in Secret Diary Of A Call Girl. As she was supposed to be a high class call girl, they wanted her not to have a "common" London accent, but it then seems to have become her normal accent.

I really liked RTD's shows and seasons, too, but the paradoxes and strange monsters with these now are really good, I'm rivited. And I think Matt Smith is one of the best Doctor's, but I really liked David Tennant and Christopher Eccleston, too. I really liked Donna, too, and Martha, I didn't dislike Rose but I don't feel as positive about her as the others. (especally when she showed up in Turn Left, did she just have oral surgery, I couldn't understand her) I like Amy and Rory together as companions, it reminds my of Harry and Sarah, somewhat.

BTW, if a Silent and a Stone Angel are facing off against each other, if the Silent looks away with the Angel forget what it's attacking?

I have no idea what the problem is with Doctor Who for me, these days. I loved RTD's take on the show, and DT's take on the character (and Catherine Tate, in spite of myself) and was really looking forward to Moffatt taking over as I thought he had written some of the best of the NewWho episodes to date, but ... it just isn't working for me.

Season 5 was less "fun" than seasons 1 to 4, which was fine, but this season is just leaving me cold. I love Alex Kingston, but even she hasn't been able to redeem the ridiculously twisting and turning Melody Pond/River Song arc, and Matt Smith still seems to veer from trying too hard to channel Sylvester McCoy's Doctor to trying too hard to channel David Tennant's Doctor.

    Clearly YMMV.

DW used to be the one and only must-see at all costs TV show in our house ... to the extent that we took the plunge and upgraded to Sky+ in early 2010 just to make sure we didn't miss any of it. We didn't bother with our usual family Xmas present of season 5 on DVD last year and half of this season so far is still sitting there unwatched.

And even the children aren't interested any more.

    Shame really.

I caught that part. Fell asleep shortly after that.

My interest in episodes without Karen Gillan drops by several thousand percent.

May have been my being out in the sun at a football game all day, but I passed out in the middle of the episode out of boredom also. I woke up for that end part.

Last few episodes have been by writers I havne't recognized either. Kidding aside, I wasn't particularly fond of this episode or the one with the little boy and the dollhouse. Feels like there's been a lot of filler when the first half of the season was so dynamic.

    So... The Doctor (Spoilers)

Drops off Amy Pond? If she's not in it, what's the point of this show? I protest.

Though, she has stated in interviews she's coming back for another season, so I guess it's only temporary.
