We could continue asking these questions forever. So I'm going to ask the one that's the elephant in the room that is slightly sacrilegious, but I think pertinent: Is Star Wars even still relevant?

These fans believe that Star Wars is still relevant.

One of the most highly publicized and documented film franchises is without a doubt George Lucas' (sadly ever-changing) Star Wars saga. While the Blu-Ray release of all the films is under fire for even more changes to the original trilogy, die-hard fans can re-visit the glory of the untainted films in the form of a fantastic set of fan-made documentaries starting with Star Wars Begins. Passionate and dedicated fan Jamie Benning has crafted an entire trilogy of documentaries using more than 30 years worth of archival footage and interviews that will surprise even the most educated fan. See them all below! ...

Here's the documentaries (via SlashFilm) starting with Star Wars Begins:

well if you hang on a few years I'm sure they will release a special edition Blu-ray with the original trilogy in its original state remastered up to DVD standard in the extras.

Then in six years the inevitable 40th anniversary super smashing Ultra high-definition from the future release will come along with even more changes and just maybe you might see the original versions of the original trilogy in hi def.

Smile of the shadow, in my honest opinion Star Wars and Star Trek are both irrelevant. They were both hugely influential and important milestones in science-fiction, as we all know. But neither has pushed the boundaries in any respect. Sadly science-fiction is stagnating and comic book fantasy superheros have all but destroyed the genre.

I will buy SW on BD when they release the unaltered original trilogy in that format.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

Let's also boycott the Director's Cut of The Gathering. Damn that greedy Straczynski for altering his original movie to make it more like he wanted it do be! And if they ever dare to bring out a Blu-Ray version with new special effects, I'm gonna be so pissed!

I got the 6 movies on blu-ray. It looks wonderful on my 63" tv. My 2 year old loves Phantom Menace and refers to it as "Robot Movie?" So, I guess Lucas hit his target demo right on.
