I just saw that Fringe has been renewed

I like what they are doing with the show, so I am happy.

    YES!

I hated everything about the first two seasons except for Peter and Walter, but the show has been getting really good in its third season.

I got confused by the whole thing and thought it was a slow x-files. Third season picked up? I might go back and watch them.

Do. Absolutely. I really thought the first season, and most of the second, were just a boring X-Files rip-off (and they were, apart from the two Bishop characters), but the third season has become something like 500% more exciting, ambitious and nuanced.

Must be an X-Files fan thing, because I never really liked that show, but I have loved Fringe from the start.

I liked the show from the start, even though more often than not it seemed to be about the monster/phenomenon of the week at first. But the continuing storyline kept me interested. And it's been getting better the more complex the story has become. My least favorite thing about it would be Anna Torv, sometimes she bugs the hell out of me, but I try not to let it ruin it for me.

And recently they've introduced some plot points that I felt could be a "jump-the-shark" moment, but I try to look past them and concentrate on the stuff I like, such as Walter Bishop.

I hope they've got the story planned well enough, so they don't end up painting themselves into a corner...

I've enjoyed Fringe from the start as well. I've enjoyed what they are doing of late. I don't know how well it all hangs together from the beginning, but it has been an interesting ride so far.

I was really happy to hear the news.

This should give the writers the confidence to plan some great stuff.
