Tron: Legacy. 3D Only?

    Tron: Legacy. 3D Only?

    Been looking forward to release of Tron2 all year ... the release date being my birthday was too delicious a coincidence to pass up. However, now the date is drawing close, my wife and I have been trying to book tickets and every single one of our local cinemas is only showing the movie in 3D ... one evej went as far as to suggest that there is no 2D version.

    Given that a sports injury six years ago has left me with a damaged left eye such that not only can I not see in stereo anymore, I cannot even watch a 3D movie without coming away with a blinding headache, to say I am disappointed would be the understatement of the year.

    Haven't been able to find anything on this on the web, so does anyone here know whether there is a 2D release of Tron: Legacy? If so, does anyone know if it is on release anywhere in Yorkshire?

    Well, this may be nothing

    I'm in the states so I don't know how far you might have to travel to find a 2D Version, but I did see one website that had separate links for a 2D and 3D versions. Of course, that could just be them trying to get ahead of the game because the links didn't have anything to them. They simply consisted of a very short, and lacking, information page on the film and a link that said "3D Version", which was pretty much the same page with a link to "2D Version."

    Another site I saw said "Tron Legacy will hit 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D screens in the U.S. on December 17TH 2010" (The day before my birthday.) So, there are places out there operating under the assumption that there will be a 2D Version. That isn't proof positive, but I can't see why Disney wouldn't offer both versions. I personally would like to see it both ways. I saw Avatar in 2D and then 3D, which really made the second viewing a treat. Plus, had I hated the 2D Version I wouldn't have bothered with the extra expense of the 3D Version.

    Anyway, I can not show you a definite statement declaring that there will be a 2D Version, but at least there are some places mentioning a one.
