None of em will make it off the island. And the other "timeline" is in fact just an alternate reality in an alternate universe.

On the other hand it could be that ALL of em get off after Jacob and Smokey have proven to one another who was wrong, and their lives continue exactly at the point when they land in LAX, and everything happens exactly as we've seen in the "flash-sideways" leaving IT to be the only reality.

As much as I like Lost, I can't wait for it to be over... my brain hurts trying to figure it all out.

No one does, not even J.J. Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber and Damon Lindelof.

Just another thought concerning parallels to the whole Vorlon/Shadow thingy.
In B5 Sheridan is the one who puts an end to the ongoing cycle of war and proving which faction is right.

Atm. many folks predict the end of LOST being Jack and Smokey sitting on the beach having the same conversation Jacob and Smokey had in the final ep of season 5 as it has supposedly happened x times before with Jacob's predecessors.
But it could very well be that Desmond is the one breaking the cycle somehow.

Me and some of my friends are suspicious that maybe everyone on the island died but live on through the power/magic of the island except possibly Hurley. We think he is the key to the story...

Hurley is able to speak with all the characters (living and dead) and seems to have been taken under Jacob's wing to do what needs to be done.

We're kind of expecting Hurley to find a way to put all the islands inhabitants back in an alternate universe where there was no plane crash... and he (Hurley) has the ability to interact with that universe and has access to the same resources Jacob did to look into peoples lives and manipulate their destiny.

Or we could be completely wrong...

                      But thats out current theory...

Should be fun seeing how it all unfolds...

By the way, the actor that portays Hurley has a LOST podcast he hosts with his girlfriend... It's called Geronimo Jack's Beard... (yeah, that is the name!).

No comments on the finale yet? A group of us watched it last night and there wasn't a dry eye anywhere. Jack's death scene was done beautifully. It's interesting that a lot of theories on the "alternate timeline" were halfway there but didn't quite have all the pieces. Great to see a few of them finally fly away on the plane. Overall the show seems to hold together pretty well even if we didn't get to see the final fates of every character (hm sounds familiar). I think there were some missing scenes in the finale though because Ben kept shifting which group he was with at one point, and was stuck under the tree but then wasn't (or maybe I just missed something when I grabbed an extra slice of pizza). I guess we'll see more on the DVD. I only somewhat liked Lost off and on, but I think this finale was a wonderful end.

We cried our eyes out. Second best ending for a TV series ever.
