Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone? Hmph.
I spent the last several days in the bright, bustling city of Roseville, Minnesota. Roseville is basically a suburb of Minneapolis, and I was up there as part of the cast of the upcoming movie Destination: Outer Space. I play a character named B'Kee, a grumpy bartender on an alien planet.
These movies are homages to the "monster" and "atomic horror" movies of the 1950s and 60s. They are all interconnected, and are in black & white.
This is the fifth movie in the series, and I'll give a brief rundown on them now ...
1 - The Monster of Phantom Lake - Professor Jackson, a scientist in his 30s, is conducting tests in the waters of a lake in Minnesota. He encounters a group of teenagers who had just graduated from high school, and a creature that has been mutated in the very waters he's testing.
2 - It Came From Another World - Jackson returns. With his best friend and co-worker, Doctor Frasier, he must defeat an evil alien intruder bent on destruction.
3 - Cave Women on Mars - In the far off future of the 1980s, Jackson's son leads a mission to our neighboring world, Mars, where he discovers tribes of cave women.
4 - Terror From Beneath the Earth - set between the 2nd and 3rd movies, in a town near Phantom Lake ... the same type of atomic radiation that created the monster in the first movie has created another mutation, a giant bat-like humanoid creature.
5 - Destination: Outer Space - Set after Cave Women on Mars, it's a Captain Jackson movie, and features a visit to an alien world with the bar I tend.
www.sainteuphoria.com is the website ... You can get the first four dvds - and the first two at least are on Netflix.
So ... Who is going to join me next Spring at the movie's premiere in Minneapolis?
