A few random searches for Star Wars TV series:
We're continuing to hear about the direction for Lucasfilm and Star Wars post-Episode III. While there won't be more movies, we continue to hear the move is to TV. Sources are now telling us that there WILL be a TV series in 2006.
They don't know whether it'll be live-action, animated or both - Lucasfilm itself will decide on this later this year!
-------
Star Wars fans are delighted that the epics' creator, George Lucas, is planning to make a TV series based on the films.
The small-screen adaptation will be set after 1983's Return Of The Jedi and will feature the continuing stories of Jedi Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Princess Leia.
The eagerly-awaited series will hit our TVs next year
--------
Hell, anythings possible. Not too enthusiastic about the idea myself, though the SW series is in desperate need of good writers.

What they need to do is start with the X-wing book series and at least loosely follow the books. That would be some damn good TV.Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

Animation or Live action?
Although I'm a bit apprehensive about the whole tv show idea ... I have to wonder ... animation or live action? I'm voting live action unless the animation would be really good. I'm talkin cowboy bebop, naruto, final fantasy type of animation. Not samurai jack.
Peace.

If it will come to life, then it will be a live action, but still too early to say what will happen...i allways heard that Spielberg wants to do star wars (i take it he ment for the big screen),so maybe he can do episodes 7,8 and 9...or will take the TV show....really hard to tell at this point.Sleeping in Light-----Darnit! I don't know how I missed this...
A few weeks back, it was leaked that the "Ultimate Editions" slated for 2006 are, in part, coming out in the 9/21 DVD release. Some changes include:
A New Hope
1. Greedo still shoots first, but it is slightly improved.
2. Jabba the Hutt is still in the film, but has been completely redone.
3. The lightsabers have been enhanced; they are no longer white rods in certain scenes.
The Empire Strikes Back
1. Actor Ian McDiarmid now appears as The Emperor via hologram, with new dialogue and different music.
2. Actor Temuera Morrison now provides the voice of Boba Fett.
Return of the Jedi
1. Naboo has been added to the end celebration montage.
2. Actor Hayden Christensen appears as the ghost of Anakin Skywalker at the end of the film.
Fans are pissed, to say the least. Lucas needs to shit, or get off the pot.Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. ILM staff were required to sign Non-Disclosure Statements regarding Episodes 7, 8 and 9. Why would this occur unless they were at least being considered?Recently, there was a reckoning. another starwarsian glitch in continuity?
I'm not a big follower of SW, so maybe I missed something, but doesn't the idea that the rumoured TV series will follow the events right after Return of the Jedi clash with the common notion that the rumoured episodes 7, 8, 9 would be the continuation?
Unless, of course, the TV series is actually gonna follow the adventures of the cute pint-sized wokee critters of Endor, since their merchandising potential wasn't fully realized by the cartoon and movie...
(That would be a surer sign that Lucas has lost it!)Such... is the respect paid to science that the most absurd opinions may become current, provided they are expressed in language, the sound of which recalls some well-known scientific phrase

If your into signs you might as well go for the really satisfying ones...

That was enough of a sign for me.

Why hope for JMS to get involved in this?
I'd much rather see him do something new in the B5 Universe.
If Lukas gets SW on the air, at least one other network is going to want a good SF Series just so they can play "Me Too".
It's a time honored Hollywierd game.
The number of people out there with good track records in TV SF can be counted on one hand.
JMS - B5
Jos Wheadon - Buffy (well fantasy, but that's ok)
Cameron - Dark Angel (I thought it had a lot of promise)
X-Files would have been better if he'd had a Plan, but maybe he's learned his lesson:
Never Count on being Cancelled.
Can't think of any other more or less recent shows that I found worth a second look.

MovieS. Plural. Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor. Both are coming to DVD as well as the Ewok/Droids cartoon.
But all speculation aside, what does it lead us to conclude if the ILM staff was required to sign NDS's? Either they plan to make them or they are going to make them.Recently, there was a reckoning. Here's another theory: they don't want the ILM staff to disclose that the sequels will never happen!Such... is the respect paid to science that the most absurd opinions may become current, provided they are expressed in language, the sound of which recalls some well-known scientific phrase

I remember that God-Awful Ewoks television show.
Put that in the WWTT? (What Were They Thinking?) category along with:
1. Jar Jar
2. Jar Jar
3. Blue ... EVERYTHING BLUESCREEN!
Actors ... oh yeah ... let's hire some actors but edit their performances on the computer to make them look completely disingenuous, marginal, and out of place.
4. Killing off Liam Neeson so early in the series ... (He was the best actor/character they had)
5. Dialogue? What's that? Oh yeah ... maybe they should say some really banal things for our stupid audience.
6. Jar Jar
God I could go on forever ...
did I mention Jar Jar?
Maybe a good thread would be things that have saved the new Star Wars films from TOTALLY sucking."If I could be a bird, I'd be a Flying Purple People Eater because then people would sing about me and I could fly down and eat them because I hate that song. " - Jack Handey
