  • Shameless self-promotion: my new freeware game

I've been designing freeware games for about eight years now. This is something I take very seriously, as seriously as any other artistic projects of mine.

The latest is a freeware adventure game. Very oldschool. Colourful, funny, more than a little odd, featuring hand-drawn graphics and quite wonderful music.

If you're into this sort of thing, have a look at:

The Strange and Somewhat Sinister Tale of the House at Desert Bridge
When the inventor/magician known as Old Man Bill suddenly disappears from his house in the middle of the desert, his friends, companions and pets start worrying: what could have happened? To solve …

And yes, there are B5 jokes in it. Which isn't a problem, since it's set in the Lands of Dream, where everything imaginary comes together. Including a turtle called Zathras.

I'm not a gamer at all but I think that it's cool that you do this. Hopefully somebody can come on and review it for us?

Sounds fun, but I have a Mac. We seem to be an afterthought for many applications out there, if we are thought of at all......

Ah, I so wish that there were simple cross-platform programming languages or RAD tools... but all I have is Visual Basic, so I have to work with that. (At least we tested this one with Linux + WINE.)

Also, there's a duck called Sinclair. (Get it? Get it? *giggles*)
